Discussion: After Criticizing San Juan Mayor, Trump Heads To City To Survey Maria Damage

According to his itinerary Trump is scheduled to meet with ordinary Boricuas for thirty-five minutes, which was probably intentional on Kelly’s part.

“There’s nothing left. It’s been wiped out,” Trump said last week. “Nobody has ever seen anything like it.”

If there were nothing else wrong with him, the 40 or 50 years he’s spent as a pitchman and marketing clown have left him unable to describe anything in accurate terms that actually apply to the situation. Everything is the best or worst in the world, amazing, unheard-of. That alone would make him pretty much hopeless in any role that required clear thinking and sound judgment. Nice going, America. Really good pick there.

Plenty of time for them to tell him “¡Vete a la mierda!” 2,100 times.

I’ve got $50 that says he’s going there to see if he can get a decent hotel cheap or buy a golf course for next to nothing.

Doubtful.

He certainly could pick up property for next to nothing, but Puerto Rico is going to be devastated for at least a decade, if not longer. Not just rebuilding, which will be extremely difficult, but their economy, which was in dire straits before all of this, is going to be even worse for a long while.

That’s part of the reason that the State Dems are pressuring Scott to open up relocation centers here in FL. There IS going to be another big wave of migration out of Puerto Rico.

Plus, Trump isn’t going to want to go traipsing around PR given how devastated the infrastructure is. I doubt he gets more than 100 yards from one of the few generator driven air conditioners. Nor would Kelly allow such jaunts.

If Trump Org wants to scour the place for potential new properties (and again…it would require BUILDING, something they don’t do anymore), they will send Eric to check it out.

Just saw the three helos from Marine Squadron 1 fly over on the way to the White House to pick up Herr Dumpfer for his little jaunt down to Puerto Rico. What a respectable hour to take off for an hour or two on the ground in PR. Have a good trip Two Scoops.

Is he going to bring that trophy?

I have a right wing acquaintance, former friend, who said Hiroshima was no big deal, that rebuilding was so easy. I produced copies of documents detailing the efforts to restore the city, including removing topsoil and demolition of many structures still standing, as well as human remains clean-up. He maintains those defense documents were forged to hide money laundering, etc. and so on. No, he is not Alex Jones. He is much uglier.

He did admit the 2nd Amendment freak-a-zoids want weapons to kill American soldiers, so, he was honest about that. :frowning:

Carmens name isn`t mentioned . ( Or did she tell him to " Fck off " already ? ) .

Hell, don’t blame me I didn’t vote for him!

Neither did I. But I didn’t manage to prevent his winning and I feel awful about it. :sob:

This will only be worthwhile if trump gets outside of San Juan. Sa\taying in an airport hanger to get praised ain’t cutting it.

How would he know, he hasn’t been there yet, and its been almost 15 days, I know its in the middle of the ocean, but it is actually closer to D.C. then Las Vegas where he is going to tomorrow.

Big missed opportunity here to bring some supplies. Short flight = less fuel = more cargo carrying capacity. They should be loading AF1 down with bottled water, generators, whatever other supplies are needed.

Disaster capitalism. Remember Dump stayed in NY during their down years and used OPM to buy lots of property.

I would love to see Puerto Ricans en masse telling him what they think of him, but they are too busy just trying to survive for that to happen.
