Kelly was a ball buster right up the moment she realized that she is (1) a young mother of four who is going to be away from home for 18 months, (2) she isn’t going to drink much red wine where she is going, (3) her professional career is over, and (4) taking the fall for Christie isn’t going to help her after she serves her time.
Yep…the time to make the stand of not being scapegoated is BEFORE you get convicted. Now, she is merely one of a gazillion cons claiming someone else did the crime they are behind bars for.
If all of the hours of freedom lost by the victims of the crime were added up, i’m sure a few life sentences would be in order in an eye for an eye justice system. maybe she should be confined to an idling car for all of her waking hours for 100 years
On the equality front I’m celebrating progress! There are very few ladies who get actual jail time for corruption like this, so she is something of a standard bearer.

Dear New Jersey; Take a page from Virginia’s Gov. Bob McDonald crime spree - haul Christie’s fat backside into the dock and present the bill of his particular crimes and make him 'splain himself. It will permanently immunize our Republic from his political rehabilitation, and he will have to get a real job.
Given all that is known about Christie’s obsession with knowing everything at every level of government as a means of control and for both rewarding and punishing, any belief that he did NOT know about this scam is beyond credible.
If I were Kelly, I would have turned on him the instant it became clear that she was going to take a fall. Look what her “loyalty” got her. I feel sorry for her children.

Bridget ya got a raw deal. I agree with you. So there’s that, I agree with you that absent a Christie conviction or at a minimum a Christie indictment, you and Baroni are taking the fall unfairly. But now I want to know what you thought was going to happen. No, not about your indictment but what were you thinking while you guys were laughing about the hijinks of tying up rush hour traffic on a major thoroughfare to needle a political competitor? While you were giggling up your sleeve about what goes around comes around did it occur to you emergency equipment may have been in that traffic jam (it was by the way), did it occur to you that some old guy with a heart condition might be sitting for a couple hours in the traffic breathing those exhaust fumes? Didja think about that Bridget? Well did you? And now your career has come to an end. Your kids are going to do some growing without you watching. They’re going to be different little people by the time you come home. I feel bad for them. I don’t feel bad for you.
Any con who tearfully claims they “didn’t mean to cause harm” should automatically get a year added to their sentence. Of course she meant to cause harm! That was the whole point of the lane closings!
