Donnie, you’re just at the start of the beginning of the beginning of the shitstorm that’s going to envelop and destroy you.
Wait for it…
‘No, because you are running against the single worst presidential candidate in my lifetime. So we’ve got time to recover. But we’ve got to do it the right way.’”
Very interesting to think of then and now. Then, something like that very well might have sunk a candidacy. Now it’s just a minor blip. We’ve certainly come a long way…
And Christie said, “It ain’t over till it’s over.”
Which I will not attribute. Out of respect for @old_curmudgeon and the baseball idol of his youth.
Christie’s “Look at me! Buy my Book” tour is as embarassing for him (though he seems to have no self awareness) as it is for others (including trump) on whom he dumps on in the book.
Christie neglected to include the end of his reassurance to Trump that he was running against “the worst Presidential candidate in my lifetime.”
The end had to be “and if you win you’ll be the worst President in the history of mankind.”
Was this before or after he asked Christie to go get him a cheeseburger?
It still will sink a candidate. A Democratic candidate. The GOP base just doesn’t care. Yet we cannibalize are own with gleeful abandon.
“Is it Over?”
No but it should have been and in the long run like the rest of us I think he will wish it had been.
Chris Christie, missing his one chance to save us all.
“He said, ‘Is it over?’” Christie told Fox News over the weekend. “I said, ‘No, because you are running against the single worst presidential candidate in my lifetime. So we’ve got time to recover. But we’ve got to do it the right way.’”
I think that he’s lying and that he never actually said that. Here is reporting from 2017 on the incident:
It was not clear from the video clip what Christie had advised Trump. But Bannon said he told Christie, “The plane leaves at 11 o’clock in the morning. If you’re on the plane, you’re on the team. Didn’t make the plane.”
Days later, Christie appeared on a New York radio program and denounced Trump’s comments about women on the leaked tape.
“Let’s be really clear. It is completely indefensible,” the Republican governor said. “I made that very clear to Donald on Friday when this first came out and, you know, urged him to be contrite and apologetic because that’s what he needs to be.”
At this point Christie was running as fast as he could from Trump, not advising him that, “You’ve got this.”
Would have been over except for Comey, the Russians, and the media’s fixation on the goddam e-mails.
Is it over?
Christie:
We’ll close that bridge when we get to it.
Chris Christie paragon of virtue Lie?
Begone with you sir and your salacious talk!
And the horse(s) he rode in on.
I don’t quote Yogi that often.
And I’m a Red Sox fan.
If only he had said, “Yes”
Should’ve been over, but republican men feel women are unequal and unworthy, and republican women agree. Throw in some teen USA voyeurism, porn star flings, prostration to Russians, and a complete lack of competence, and voila, your next president.
