Yep. You called it. I believe Trumpās head is spinning tonight after the talking to heās received. I suspect he doesnāt know whether to shit or puke. But I think heās beginning to realize just how out of his league he really is, and just how terrible, horrible, no good and very bad the next 5 months are going to be. Iām sure itās sobering. But mark my words, Trump is a narcissistic bully and will be back to playing the con with bombast and sharp attacks against even the hands that feed him. Itās all he knows. One trick Tangerine pony is about to fail epically, for all the world to see. It will be an ego shattering humiliation.

Iām counting on the TRUMP brand being worth shit when this is all over. Initially I was really surprised that he would risk his business to run, and figured his kids are concerned about their business legacy. But his narcissism won out.
Just how many of his supporters from the āuneducatedā middle and working poor classes will be able to afford to stay at his hotels and play on his golf courses? Maybe they would have frequented NJ casinos, but those are bankrupt. Trump business is already dropping, probably because of the sane folks who donāt want anything to do with him. His supporters will not be keeping him a billionaire when this is over. Canāt wait!

Yeah, Iāve wondered about that. Honestly, if youād asked me this time last year what I knew of Donald Trump, it was only two things. One, I never watched the reality show, but I was aware of itās existence. And two, we lived in Chicago when Trump Tower went up, and while itās not my favorite building in the city, itās not terrible looking either. Thatās really about it.
As far as the Trump ābrandā goes, I was pretty indifferent. For special occasions, my wife and I would go to dinner at nice restaurants in Chicago, and I certainly wouldāve considered Sixteen (in the Trump Tower) for a nice meal. Now, you couldnāt pay me enough to eat there!
But even more than that, alienating entire ethnic groups or religious groups is never good for business. No Hispanic family is ever going to stay at a Trump hotel or gamble at a Trump casino. No Muslim is ever going to go golfing at a Trump course. And corporations that value their minority workers arenāt going to schedule events at a Trump resort. Go, figure.

Agreed about the āego shattering humiliationā thatās coming his way! But not sure heās got the feedback loop that enables him to ārealize just how out of his league he really isā. Normal people like you and I realize when things arenāt working, learn from it, and decide to do things differently. Iām just not sure heās capable. So much of what he does is an extension of his personality flaws. So all these Republicans who are calling on him to change are wasting their breath, since heās unable to change. But even more than that, heās unable to engage in the self-reflection that would be necessary to even know he should change.
Itās worked for him for decades in real estate, it worked for him through the GOP primary, and by golly heāll (try to) make it work for him from now until November.

I would argue that he has never in his life had serious challenges to his spoiled rich kid psychic construct like heās probably had in the last few days from the āwhat the FUCK are you doing?!?ā crowd of supporters-not-endorsers. He sure sounded like he was dragging his dick through the dirt tonight, flirting now and then with letting his normal self out for a little romp before realizing again that he just got his ass handed to him by the republican powers that be.
@peepsrepmd Remember that the narcissistic personality has at its heart a VERY fragile ego. And while therapy for such an individual typically involves careful dismantling and reconstruction of the ego to address the cognitive distortions at play, Trumpās future reckoning post humilliation may be more akin to Ibogaine therapy for a Heroin addict; brutal, savage, mind-bendingly ego shattering, but ultimately effective.
edited to add; The prognosis for the Heroin addict after Ibogaine therapy is significantly better that it is for the narcissistic personality after therapy. But a presidential campaign loss and ābiggest loserā reframe may have, for Trump, significant, unforeseen, and potentially very positive therapeutic outcomes. Hope springs eternal.
