 "fair, unbiased and accurate."

Because he’d have been sued for using the the more succinct “fair and balanced.”

Old tricks are hardly “forward thinking”.

"They promise “to publish a newspaper that is fair, unbiased and accurate.” “fact checkers” and and “Ombudsman”.

Does Adelson think that crap still works? We’ve seen that blueprint and we’ve seen the final product. He can “skirt” around questions and “fair and balance” but no one is going to be fooled by that old trick. He’s going to do with the paper exactly what everyone knows he’s going to do with it. That’s why he “skirted” the issue of buying it.

A gigantic but entirely predictable load of complete and utter bullshit that only the most naive and gullible citizens would believe. It’s too bad that’s at least 50% of the voting public.

Should have been placed in the “comics” section —

eschewing traditional news sources, such as AP and Reuters, in order to provide a more fair and balanced content it was announced that primary content will be from News Corp…

we will also be running old Mallard Fillmore comics in lieu of Doonesbury…

Of course, the best way to establish your reputation as a transparent and open source of balanced news is to conduct all the negotiations to purchase the paper in secret under assumed names and then to deflect for days any questions as to your ownership.

We can’t change media ownership rules until we control both the White House and Congress.

Vote, People! And not only in the presidential elections, in the off year elections as well.

Gee! I can’t wait to see the print version of “unfair and unbalanced”. Another great contribution to Gamblingsville by Adelson. Will there be any coverage of Israel a la Netanyahoo?

Fox: We fully trust Adelson. It will be totally fair coverage as it will not have any liberal viewpoint.

Newspapers have not been worth reading since Calvin and Hobbes closed shop.

Yeah, sure!

Smell test. A person obsessed with influencing politics is not likely to buy a newspaper with no thought of its potential to influence politics. Nor is he likely to buy it out of selfless concern for an aware, informed public or the profit the newspaper industry promises. This stinks, in a word. I’ve said it before, journalism was fun while it lasted.

That’s like enhanced interrogation. The facts will be tortured until they fit what Hell Toupee thinks they should be.

Like his free newspaper in Israel, which killed off other newspapers and promulgated a hard right ideology?
