Fort Lee is the Army Quartermaster headquarters. it isn’t exactly the place you’d expect to see soldiers in full combat gear, doing training exercises.
known as the home of the “Fighting Staplers”, it’s probably the last military base you’d expect something like this to happen. hope the young woman is ok, and she gets the help she obviously needs, to deal with whatever mental demons prompted this.

What about the gun? The gun was probably traumatized, too. Will anyone see to it that the gun gets the help it needs?

The best active shooter is the one who points the gun at themselves, no innocents get killed.
Now get this woman the help she obviously needs.
Active shooter? I assume they heard a gunshot and couldn’t locate a shooter. Hence it’s an active shooter until they can confirm it isn’t someone unpleasant with a gun running around.
That’s… not a very good headline. Did the female soldier decide to turn her weapon on herself during the active shooter alert, or was her self-injury the cause of the shooter alert?
