“They is no report at this time of any shots that have been fired.”
Active shooter? Doing Zumba while armed?
Apparently, with open carry, there is no way to tell an active shooter from a normal guy until he pulls the trigger.
Feeling safer now?
A guy with a gun in Mississippi…how on Earth did they single him out?
The French train heroes basically sprang into action based on the observation a guy was acting furtive and carrying an assault rifle. Tackled, gun butted, hog tied and handed over to the police. In the United States those criteria would result in several hundred people a day being jumped and hog tied. Your average Walmart would look like a WWE main event.
In the US the French train heroes would be arrested for assault and for violating someone’s second amendment rights.
Hell, a real terrorist could gun down the would-be heroes, halt his plans in their tracks, and claim some sort of stand your ground defense and walk off a free man. Rinse and repeat on another day until he gets it right.
Same as it ever was. Active shooter on campus? Again? Meh, he’ll prolly only get a few guys before they get him. What’s for lunch?
Let’s keep a counter:
It's been exactly **0** days since our last national gun tragedy.
That’s the count each and every day in the USA, 0 days since someone was killed with a gun, happens each and every day of the year.
My point exactly!!!
Had an active shooter in my town this morning at around 5:30 AM. Yep, just another gun day in Amerika. Still awaiting national coverage…but I guess this one was just too mundane for them.
Well…at least they’re keeping it down South (VA, Loserana–and now Mississippi)–where they like that sort of thing.
They is no report at this time…
Being from the Suhthun tier, myself, I had to chuckle. Tweeted just as it was spoken.
It seems to me that arming both sides in any sort of conflict is in the best tradition of arms sales.
By encouraging everyone to buy guns for defense and then preventing passage of any real laws that keep the 'bad guys" from getting guns just as easily as the “good guys,” you set the stage to sell more and more weapons to more and more people. The carnage is good for business. Just as war makes arms merchants rich, and is encouraged to go on as long as possible, the weapons lobby will continue to fight with everything they have to eliminate any possibility that criminals cannot get guns, while preaching that the only way to be safe is buy several guns of your own. If we tighten laws and make it hard or impossible for criminals to get guns, people will begin to feel safer and stop buying guns to “protect” themselves.
The funniest thing though is the open carry craze. Let’s let people carry guns openly to make themselves targets, thus drawing fire from the innocent, unarmed victims. Like the “patriots” lined up in broad daylight in front of recruiting centers “guarding” the military, (which, oddly enough doesn’t want them there) begging to be mowed down with an automatic weapon from a vehicle, these heroes who think that showing a gun protects them from someone hiding in ambush are actually doing nothing but facilitating the mass killers who can just walk out in the open and not even draw a look until they open up.
How did we get so so stupid as a nation?
Damn I think shooters are crying for help and want some gun control as active as they have been lately.
Because it’s NOT about “showing a gun” it’s about “showing you have a dick.”
It’s all emasculated “little men” desperate to show how virile they are by playing “The Hero” (in their minds.)
The ONLY power they have in their lives is the power to KILL and they desperately need to show it in public or they have no reason to exist. Sad, but true that the rest of us have to put up with their “little dick” syndrome.
I was asked if I knew that the guy that shot up a school was getting a lot of time in prison.
I asked—“Which one?” Turns out it wasn’t a school shooter it was the theater shooter—but I still had to ask-----“Which one?” . . . .
I don’t know when it’s going to happen. But it’s going to happen All these incidents day by day, week by week, will eventually reach a crescendo that no one, not even Republicans, are going to be able to ignore.
Hopefully, we’ll get reasonable gun laws sooner rather than later, before many more lives are lost. But one can never predict the nub on which public opinion changes. Witness same sex marriage or the confederate flag issue. Very few people saw those changes coming before they actually occurred.
The ridiculous arguments of the NRA will eventually reveal themselves to even the diehards as utterly nonsensical.
