Must be. Trump could bathe in the blood of aborted fetuses on the White House lawn, while tweeting out nuclear launch codes, telling Putin he can have Alaska back, shooting random immigrants rounded up from the area from his bathtub, and they’d still vote in favor.

Not so far. What truly scares me is how much has been accepted already because They are using the simple principle of small increments. The pushback has come when the bites were too big.
I’m a dog trainer. I look at everything through a behavioral lens, and I don’t like what I’m seeing.

He wants a shoot to kill policy at the border. It’s plain as day. He was just saying he wishes he could use the military for this problem like they do in other countries.

It’s hard for me to accept that trump would be that crafty and steadfast. I have had many dogs and my parents raised, bred, and showed Clumber Spaniels. I understand what you mean by small increments. If someone is actually deliberately managing this it ain’t trump.

A shoot to kill policy would start a war with Mexico and several other countries and our allies would disown us. Plus our economy would tank in short order.

Why? lots of jobs to manufacture the tanks, guns and ammunition to take them down.
Let alone the lure jobs on social media and in person to entice them to make the journey in the first place.
Plus a bonus for funeral homes for body disposal.
Trump is waaay to stupid to be micro-managing this, true. My money is on Miller with others unknown to me, which is why I used “They” rather than “Trump”.
It always pays to remember that the same behavioral principles work on anything with a nervous system: what differs are the goals and the reinforcers used. Humans do have the advantage of not going down the primrose path if they make a conscious choice not to.
And OT, but I always wonder about these things; how did you get from Clumbers to a Coonhound?

Clumbers are damned few sadly. But being a soft hearted person with 3 cats and no dog (our previous 2 had gone on to “Rain Bow Bridge” a few years previous)…Mrs darr said "OK! we are going to the “Wiggle Store!” otherwise known as our local Humane Society facility. I saw this 10 week old pup in a complete food coma on a pile of kibble and thought “How could anyone be so cruel as to turn in such a beautiful pup?” A tour outside to see if she was put together squarely and that as they say was that. Eight years on and I am retired and my pup and I go nearly everywhere together. She trained me more or less.
One thing I will never do tho, is leave her in a car. Even for a moment. Arizona is beastly hot in summertime.

That results in folks in the military being corrupted to look the other way at pre-arranged times. No exceptions.
I have a Flat-Coated Retriever and a Keeshond, myself, and I also raise puppies for a guide dog school. These days they’re usually Labs, but I’ve also raised Goldens, German Shepherds, and a Standard Poodle.
And, of course, a cat. The current model is a long-haired Siamese mix, found in a taped-up box with her littermates. People are real creeps sometimes.
