Discussion: Acting CFPB Director Mulvaney Requests No Quarterly Funding

Can an acting director be impeached? Because this guy certainly deserves it.

(He deserves to be drawn and quartered, but we don’t do that any more.)

This is what happens when campaign “donations” are protected under the First Amendment.

Truly the sycophant’s sycophant!

It’s almost laughable how every single agency or action that could help Trump’s “angry white base” is being dismantled. And the cynicism of their assumption that their vaunted base is so ignorant or “poorly educated” that it won’t matter is pretty breathtaking, Yep, let’s hear it for those elite Democrats.

HOW long can an acting director run the CFPB… Seems like another way Trump perverts the executive.

So is this Trump tomahawking Pocahontas?

I put this list in comments yesterday, but will re-post here. My ranked list of who I consider the worst people in the administration. I feel some justification in ranking Mulvaney high on the list, despite high competition from dicks throughout the administration. Should I move him up? Hard to supplant DeVos or Pruitt–but he might be worse.

  1. Trump
  2. Miller
  3. Sessions
  4. Pruitt
  5. DeVos
  6. Mulvaney
  7. Kushner
  8. Pence
  9. Zinke
  10. Mnuchin

Yet one more example to dispel the myth that Trump’s voters felt “left out of the economy.” His base wants a white America. Nothing else matters.

Kelly didn’t make your list? We’re gonna need a bigger list.

Maybe Kelly over Mnuchin–I could see that–I could also see Huckabee-Sanders over both for the 10 spot.

On Facebook, if you go to comments section of any of our local media, it’s a cornucopia of racism, hate, and bigotry. These people weren’t suffering from economic anxiety. They’re suffering from hate. They’d sacrifice their own children if they thought it would hurt some minority somewhere.

Is it really cynicism if the marks insist on jumping into your face demanding to be skinned?

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Trump’s base at this point has been reduced to stupid, stupid people who want stupid things done because, being stupid, smart things sound stupid to them and stupid things sound smart. And they don’t much care what the things being done are, as long as they’re stupid. They may have had a list of specific stupid things they wanted to see done on Election Day, but any stupid thing will do. As long as smart people say the things being done are stupid, they’ll cheer themselves hoarse even while being bent over a barrel and reamed. And, being stupid, as long as they’re told stupid things are being done even if they aren’t, they’ll likewise cheer.

Some of them are inherently stupid. Many of them choose to be stupid. Some of them were made stupid by family and peer group pressure. A lot of them are the kind of stupid that constantly being afraid of everything makes you. And, of course, there’s that very special stupid practiced by the innately authoritarian bullies who just want to see other people harmed.

Oh yeah, we know them. Most of us went to school with them and live among them.

And this is why I’m all out of shits to give about the “white working class” voters we “lost,” (and fuck you too NYT for today’s latest NYT white working class ballwashing stupidity). We didn’t “lose” them. They haven’t been ours since 1980 and they’ve just grown worse as they’ve aged.

I’m still lobbying for the combo guillotine-trebuchet. As I’ve said before, it marries the barbarity of a beheading with the thrilling spectacle of a pumpkin toss.

I sincerely feel this idea deserves serious consideration.

“Fearful working-class Whites” voted for Trump…
Knowing he vowed to cut taxes for the rich.

“Fearful working-class Whites” voted for Trump…
Knowing he built and staffed his hotels with immigrants.

“Fearful working-class Whites” voted for Trump…
Knowing he imported cheap Chinese steel for his construction projects.

“Fearful working-class Whites” voted for Trump…
Knowing he outsourced his name-brand products to foreign slave-labor.

“Fearful working-class Whites” voted for Trump…
Knowing he promised to kill healthcare for tens of millions of Americans.

“Fearful working-class Whites” voted for Trump…
Knowing he didn’t pay income tax for 20 years.

“Fearful working-class Whites” voted for Trump…
Knowing his “University” stole millions from people desperate to learn marketable skills.

I think it’s safe to just drop that whole “working-class” qualifier from “Whites”.

Trump voters were fearful alright, just not about anything “working-class”.

"“[s]imply put, I have been assured that the funds currently in the Bureau Fund are sufficient…”

“…for my plan to do absolutely nothing the CFPB was tasked with doing.”

I forget if I linked this before:

It’s abundantly clear that race resentment drove the economic anxiety that won Trump the election, not the false narrative of it all somehow being the opposite, “so stop trying to call these poor middle class white folks racists.” Fuck that. I am a white straight man raised in middle-class Murikkka. I am the LAST person they are fooling.

I would add “spiteful” to that. The constant deluge of cultural resentment propaganda from the only sources of “information” (if it can even be called that at this point) to which they expose themselves drives a VERY strong undercurrent of “I don’t give a fuck what he does as long as it fucks the darkies, keeps Murikkka white and makes liberals cry.”

Thing is, though, racism can be stoked or suppressed among stupid people through cultural and leadership signalling because, along with innumeracy, it is one of the mother sauces of all stupidity.
