Great news. Still… every swipe at the press does additional damage to our democracy. Trump and his goons know this and are just planning the next strike.

Good. Glad he/CNN fought back. The ban was bullshit.

next move by Trump? it will have to be a whopper - especially since this also effectively says the altering the video stunt was a cheap trick - and - even more important in Trump’s twisted mind this must go down as a “WIN” for Acosta & CNN and a fine piece of a publicly humiliating “LOSS” for Trump - since Trump takes all moments of being displayed as a “LOSER” as a personal assault (even if he brings it on himself - he blames the other person) - and he reflexively tries to strike back with something 10X more brutal than what happened to him with the intent of significantly hurting the opponent.

what will the angry, effectively admonished Trump do ?
… ignore Acosta - simply not recognize him - treat Acosta like he is invisible?
… unleash an unhinged verbal tirade at Acosta and CNN?
… not have press conferences for a while? just do impromptu ‘interviews’ with select individuals?
… start a war with Canada?
… apologize and behave properly and develop a sense of professionalism and decorum?

Just means the Unindicted Co-conspirator wont be making any more appearances at press conferences for a while. Wont face Acosta again right now, will leave it to the Lying Lady of the White Pearl Clan to spew her venom as usual.

Just following the procedure in the FSB Field Manual: Putin Edition.

Seth Abramson just released his book, where he lays out the facts in the Trump/Russia case. He argues it is essentially a bribery case: Russia bribed Trump in exchange for favorable foreign policy worth billions of dollars, and the payoff took the form of money laundering through various parts of Trump’s holdings: Trump Org, his family, the Kushner properties, etc.

I think this is incomplete. I absolutely suspect that Putin has been telling Trump there there’s a possibility that, with Putin’s help, Trump can become king-for-life of America. I think Putin has had plenty of opportunities to demonstrate how total his own control of Russia is, and he’s convinced Trump that “this could be you!”

Dismantling the free press, and elevating propaganda shops like Fox and One America to replace the press, is a huge element of Russian-style autocracy.

Trump probably should have read the Constitution before he took an oath to preserve, protect and defend it. Or, at least, have someone read it to him.

  • there is certainly a congruency between Putin’s general approach to ‘managing’ situations and Trump’s aggressive use of “executive orders”

Putin & Trump strongly depend upon a swift and willful ‘I am in charge of everything’ approach - act like you are entirely empowered to take any action you chose & then direct it to happen - basically roll in the troops - secure the area - and then let somebody try to explain why you should undo what has happened… oh and when they try to make you be accountable for your actions - get gangs of thugs that are aligned with your base to beat them, hassle them, discredit them & essentially ‘blame (and beat) the victim’

Acosta All Smiles After Lawsuit Win: ‘Let’s Get Back To Work’

Sweet Sarah can’t wait to see him back…

Congratulations CNN and Acosta, but we all knew how this would turn out, right?

‘When Acosta aggressively tried to get an answer to his question, Trump
lost his temper and called Acosta a “rude, terrible person.”’

Nonsense. There was nothing aggressive in the way Acosta asked his questions. He repeated or rephrased them when the president gave non-answers. This is what WH correspondents are supposed to do. Presidents don’t necessarily like it but too freaking bad. I thought Acosta was quite even-tempered and respectful, actually. Clearly this entire incident was a set up, complete with an intern as an accomplice.

Saying Acosta’s questioning was “aggressive” is just buying into the bogus WH narrative and I’m surprised to see this in an article written by TPM staff.

‘Let’s Get Back To Beating and Harassing WH interns…errrr I mean Work!’

tRump will probably instruct anyone holding a presser not to call on him, no way, no time. He is a little vindictive, you know!

Can Acosta sue for defamation over the circulation of video doctored to misrepresent him as guilty of a violent offense?
