Although the frustration of these officers is somewhat understandable, certain demeanor and threats are not acceptable. This cop most likely should chose a different line of work as he doesn’t belong in our streets.
Then again, this is the kind of mentality a lot of our police officers take with them on patrol:
So I got a question for the ACLU - where are they on this account of police herding and pointing guns at a group of demonstrators and bloggers? Anything? Or is it only the white ones with YouTube accounts and hipster flippant usernames?
EDIT: my correction - there was also an MSNBC reporter (Trymaine Lee) in with the group noted in the blog post I linked. So perhaps they’ll make note of it tonight, but my original question to ACLU still stands. They seem to be busy cherry picking the events in which they’re requesting accountability.
Instead of the 1964 Birmingham, AL fire hoses and attack dogs, we have uniformed police officers pointing automatic weapons at unarmed civilians and media in Ferguson, MO, in 2014.
This will be a segment on Maddow tonight, if not each and every MSNBC show, starting at 5:00 PM. This “officer” needs desk duty at the minimum or better yet, termination.
Yeah. Until about fifteen seconds after they’re running things.
Ever heard the store about the little girl who found a snake freezing in the snow? The one that ends “you knew what I was when you picked me up?” That’s libertarians.
They are a far, far greater threat to the continued existence of a decent, livable society where freedom isn’t a sad joke than any number of lard-assed racists. Making common cause with them is like the Republicans making common cause with the theocrats in the 80s in the naive belief that they could be controlled and ultimately excluded from actual power.
Because the ACLU beat everyone else to the punch in noticing the video on YouTube. (Perhaps the user even tipped them off about it.)
Another uniformed “co-worker” did guide him away from the confrontation, and he was removed from duty today, less than 24 hours from the time he spoke these recorded words. I’d say his bosses did even better than just “demand his removal”.
Interesting that you now claim the officer should be removed. You took a different view of Brown 2 days ago:

I generally do not comment on people’s comments to my posts but today I’ll make an exception. YES, I’m glad he’s dead!!! His behavior gives a clear view of what he was to become. And DON’T tell me he could have turned his life around.

Michael Brown was obviously no saint, and I’m glad that he’s been eliminated from society before he became a bigger threat. With that said, I wish his elimination had occurred differently.
The rabble have surveillance equipment now, too, able to record audio and video, and immediately transmit that feed around the world. Your actions will be noticed, and they will be brought to light, and many will do their best to hold you accountable.
