Discussion: Abuse Allegations And Duke Basketball Attacks: KY Gov. Race Gets Vicious

Discussion for article #236076

“Everyone who knows me understands that the charges are completely incompatible with everything I stand for.”

Yep, that’s why IOKIYAR.

…Comer would seek a “devastating lawsuit” against the Courier-Journal for publishing Thomas’ allegations.

Another illustration of the dangers of practicing law without a license. For your bedtime reading, Mr. Comer, I can recommend Times v. Sullivan. I know, you just loves that Constitution, right up until the moment when it becomes inconvenient.

Look at his wife.

Stand by your man, especially if you have a chance to become Kentucky’s first lady.

Well, I wouldn’t, but I suppose it was 20 years ago, and he’s a different man.

Uh huh.

What she’s describing is a classic abuser. I doubt that even over 20 years he’s changed much. BTW, was he the father of that baby? What’s his stand on abortion?

He’s a Republican running for Governor in the state of KY, of course he is against abortion.

But this is weird:

“Comer called Heiner “the Christian Laettner of Kentucky politics,” a reference to the Duke basketball star reviled in the Bluegrass State for beating the University of Kentucky with a final second shot in the 1992 NCAA tournament.”

That’s a pretty desperate come back, even for the UK fans to whom he is pandering. Very childish.

Bonus points for Laettner to have the fist name Christian though.

It’s like “Buddy … this is the first I’ve heard of all this. Wait until we get home … you got ‘splainin’ to do!”

If he was an abusive control freak 20 years ago, it’s a pretty safe bet he still is, and that his wife is all too well aware of it. The abortion may be news to her, but not the rest of it.
