Discussion: Abrams Confirms That She Will File Lawsuit Challenging GA Electoral System

She needs a trip up to the new Speaker’s office in Washington. Federal election reform needs to pass the House next year, along with getting the budget passed on time. Maybe task Rules Committee with drawing it up, once the leadership team is in place.

McConnell lies that he wants Democrats to work with him, the right way to do that is to pass legislation and let Republicans be the obviousreasons we can’t have nice things.

Sore loser? She SHOULD be a sore loser. She lost, because of a long-term plan–led by the man who got more counted votes this year–to deprive Democratic voters of their loss. Hard to think of many political crimes worse than that.

Props to Abrams. Her fighting stance leads by example how to operate in politics these days.

Rewriting the section of the Voting Rights Act struck down by the Supreme Court should be one item on the national agenda. The new infusion of new House Democrats can breathe life into making this item a legislative priority. For any new member of the House, this achievement would provide a stellar credit on yet-to-be-compiled list of accomplishments.

Locally, Abrams has expert knowledge of Georgia’s political machinery to blunt the efforts of future secretaries of state to leverage their authority for political advantage. Kemp clearly used his office to engineer a win. Local activism from “Fair Fight Georgia” and similar organizations is needed to disabuse future politicians from doing the same.

Discovery in this suit is going to be interesting. It sure would be unfortunate if Kemp had to resign.
