interesting potential ticket. Here’s another: Biden and Michelle. (2008 was Obama-Biden; this would be Biden-Obama.
No way should Abrams run for President. It would be better if she ran for Senate against David Perdue.
Winning the Senate needs to be a much bigger focus than just winning the White House because McConnell needs to lose his power given how he’s rammed through so many unqualified judicial nominees and blocked so much legislation. Also, someone like Matt Jones needs to run against McConnell for his Senate Seat.
I’m feeling left out. I want to run, too!
Go for it.
I really like Abrams, but you’re right about the senate. I would love to see Abrams as a senator.
As I recall,Joe Biden met privately with Beto some time back too. Regardless of what Vice-President Biden and Mayor Abrams choose to do,I regard their meeting as a good thing.
Sorry. But that ticket doesn’t thrill me.
Why? That would be an awesome powerhouse ticket if you ask me. If your explanation is that Biden is an old white man, which you consider disqualifying, then talk to the hand.
Wrong interpretation. But your nastiness doesn’t deserve a further response. I expect better when we are talking to each other.
I apologize if you felt that was nasty, but I wanted to cut that avenue of argument off before it could start. The intertubes and politics are not safe spaces. It was legitimate question though.
No.
Call me cynical, but it looks to me like Biden’s bid to ingratiate himself with the powerhouse of the Democratic base, black women.
After mentioning the Senate, she continued with a jab toward the White House: “And then there’s this other job that … I would argue is currently vacant.”
I do love her. I think she would be brilliant in the senate, and then maybe later in the White House.
It isn’t that he is an old white man. It is that he is too old.
I don’t care who it is, someone who will be 78 years old at the time of the election is not someone I want entering a possible 8 year presidency.
True, but I also think Biden knows he needs three things to win: color, estrogen, and youth. I had previously thought that Biden-Harris would be the unbeatable ticket, but I now think Biden-Abrams would top even that. The problems surrounding Harris with her criminal justice background, which strangely only applies to the black woman, wouldn’t be an issue with Abrams. Plus, I tend to think Abrams’ story is even more compelling than Kamala’s.
Thank you. For what it’s worth, I like Joe
He’s too old and too White Establishment in terms of the optics. He would also face clips of how he treated Anita Hill running 24/7, plus whatever other “too handsy with women” clips the opposition can dig up.
He’s not a good campaigner either. How many times has he run for President now? And finally, he’s too easily characterized (like Hillary) as suffering from coronation syndrome, thinking they’re the next in line.
Is that enough? I do like him, but he needs to support the team from the outside of the main race.
Do we think they’re meeting to discuss a joint ticket announcement? Or is there something like don’t run and if I win the nomination I’ll make you my VP?
I like Abrams, I’d love to see her run for something, Senate or President and I’d think she’d make a great Veep.
