Discussion: ABC Host Questions Carson: Do You Assume All Muslims Embrace Sharia Law?

Discussion for article #241094

¨But right now, when you have something that is against the rights of women, against the rights of gays, subjugates other religions, and a host of things that are not compatible with our Constitution, why in fact would you take that chance?"

He´s right on that. That´s why I´m not voting Republican.

Shouldn’t he ask Huckabee and Cruz?

All a Catholic had to do, according to Carson’s intellectual forefathers in 1960 was to denounce the Pope if they wanted to be President.

He has the world backwards. All a Muslim needs to do after meeting the Constitutional requirements is convince the voters to vote for them. Nothing more.

Talk about “an improved Islamic text” when you’re President, Ben, you oblivious half-wit child, and see how well that goes over on the diplomatic front.

If you renamed Sharia law and just called it Biblical values law or something like that, Ben Carson and the other fundo-wingos would highly approve of most of it.

Um… Ben Carson started an online petition to defund Planned Parenthood, said he “strongly disagreed” with the Supreme Court’s same-sex marriage decision, and said a Muslim should not be President. QED, right?

He just outed the entire GOP playbook…but he thought he was talking about Muslims. Too funny. This was said in the same year as:

  1. The SCOTUS ruling on marriage equality, and the GOP (and their evangelical base) having a conniption fit over it. And throwing their support behind Kim Davis
  2. The entire GOP field of presidential candidates is trying to defund Planned Parenthood in one way or another which will eliminate many women’s health services, and looking to make abortion effectively illegal in some locations. On top of that, they are refusing to pass some women’s equality legislation that has come up.

Candidly, I’m still kind of missing my $100,000 of home equity which Wall Street flushed down the mortgage backed security toilet the last time Republicans ran the show.

Listening to Ben Carson today, still defending the same ridiculous, irrelevant, culture-war bullshit he blurted out last Sunday for fuck’s sake, it’s just clearer and clearer that Republicans haven’t one God damned thing to offer.

So what is Dr Ben going to you when all the Muslims in the United States who who came here to escape Sharia law ask him questions. will his campaign manager come to shut them off, like s/he did on the CNN interview?

“No – read the paragraph before that where I said anybody, doesn’t matter what their religious background, if they accept American values and principles and are willing to subjugate their religious beliefs to our Constitution. I have no problem with them,”

So Dr. Carson, do you believe it to be equally essential that a candidate of the Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, or other persuasion “subjugate their religious beliefs to our Constitution?” Are you willing to subjugate you Seventh Day Adventist beliefs to the Constitution?

Now, wouldn’t requiring such subjugation violate Article VI, Paragraph 3 (the No Religious Test clause) of the Constitution?

“But right now, when you have something that is against the rights of
women, against the rights of gays, subjugates other religions, and a
host of things that are not compatible with our Constitution…”

Describing the Christian Right perfectly. How do these guys not drown in their own hypocritical poo?

“But right now, when you have something that is against the rights of women, against the rights of gays, subjugates other religions, and a host of things that are not compatible with our Constitution, why in fact would you take that chance?”

Well, there go Mike Huckabee’s chances.

So, according to Carson’s argument, Carson is against Carson for President.

These people are just f**king scam artists. Every single one of them. Money, money, money, money.
