And the the US should take our $$$ and go home. Yea, support the PEOPLE of Israel but we should not be propping up any Israeli government, especially with more arms…nor should be be supporting any country within the Middle East until these folks decide to live with each other there is not a damn thing we can do.

Those are the two options that Israel has not eliminated. My fear, though, is that the Israeli right is very willing to live with the consequences of the uglier option.

Anyone who thought that the Israelis would be willing to see a Palestinian state on any of the land supposedly occupied by the twelve tribes simply doesn’t understand the Zionist mindset. After Gaza and the West Bank, Israel will make another attempt to occupy and ultimately absorb Lebanon. This may take a generation or two, but Israeli Jews are people of history and are willing to move slowly. As an American, my concern is essentially this. Our mid-east policy no longer uses Israel, but instead is driven by the demands of Israel, which causes us to be involved in wars that are not in the interests of the American people and that waste American resources.

American tax dollars and decades-long middle east policies have been predicated on supporting and defending the apartheid policies of the various Israeli regimes. The military adventure in Iraq was inspired by neo-cons who were seeking U.S. military force against those perceived as Israeli enemies (Saddam Hussein). Those policies cost us thousands of American lives and trillions of American dollars, and turned the entire region into a war zone creating millions of refugees and untold casualties. This is the reason that the Palestinian genocide demands our attention.
Much of the rage of the Islamic world against the U.S. and the inspiration for the most extreme of terrorists is based on the vivid display of the decades-long, slow motion genocide of the Palestinian people. Palestinians are not Syrians, they are not Iraqis, and they are not Egyptians. They have no need to be subsumed by some another nation because of the desire by some for a “Greater Israel”. The Palestinian land is being swallowed by Israeli hegemony.
This “diplomat” and her advocacy of the continuation of crimes against Palestinians is a stain on us all if we allow it to continue uncontested. The horrors of the Shoa demand that we “Never Again” allow crimes against humanity to go unchallenged.

The Palestinians are actually a critical part of the Israeli economy and the workforce. It’s only a question of where they can put the “company towns” for them to live
They are no different than any other right wingers even among our hardest core fundamentalists preachers for example - they still enjoy their luxury jets. At the top it’s still about capitalism - religion is just handy window dressing so when liberals look on they say “Well they seem to have an emotional attachment beyond money and power we must respect that - heck we should support such a noble cause”

Incorporating the Sinai and controlling the Suez and Beirut to the north would seem the original design plan from the 50’s-60’s. A move Eastward is more of a sideshow - keeping real estate options open to the north and south and tossing a religious justification on it keeps people thinking about the mystical - not the practical
At the end of the day true right wingers mystical beliefs are of themselves as the top mystic - which then allows them to act in very practical ways.

Neocon Netanyahu did say the same thing during the election. So, he is bamboozling both sides for the status quo. It sucks. Abbas proclaimed his adherence to past agreements is now null and void. Good luck dealing with the murderous controllers. They will squeeze every last – other – from the West Bank.

I’ve said it a hundred times before. The only way forward is for the Palestinians to give the Israelis what they want, and give it to them hard. The PNA and PLO should surrender; they should declare that they recognize the West Bank and Gaza as Israeli territory; and then they should dissolve themselves. Then, immediately send every Palestinian man and woman to the nearest Israeli government office to register to vote.

There are no surprises here.
The same dilatory tactics and disingenuous long game has been apparent to everyone without self-interested blinders for decades.
It is interesting to note that the mask has finally been removed and the new face of obstinate denial and arrogant challenge is publicly replacing the victimization myth which has been the go-to rationale for all the excesses.
Israel will do as it will.
Whether the United States acts in its best interests and continues to move toward a marginalization of Israel as a strategic partner as a consequence of its actions or succumbs to the Lobby for political considerations is the more important consideration for me and, apparently, for the world at large.
