We are such a pathetic laughing stock because of this. I’ve been emailing a Navy buddy who now lives in Italy, with his wife, and he says that everyone asks him “What’s wrong with Americans? How could they have elected this idiot?”
and stories like this make it impossible to even try to stick up for ourselves.
This is why DJT can’t buy so much as a load of concrete in New York or Chicago.
Thank you republican penis hunters for making it legal for people to sue a sitting president.
Three words: Clinton vs Jones
On another site, a winger said “why do you think Trump has borrowed Russkie money when there are all kinds of banks in NYC?”
Oh-my-God! Talk about not paying attention to all the true stories of thousands being stiffed by Trump!
He couldn’t be a dog-catcher in NYC as multiple banks would garnish his wages in, drum roll please…a New York minute!
Surely, if the Italians are asking “how could you elect this buffoonish autocratic businessperson with no political experience and seemingly little interest in anything other than his own personal advancement” then your friend replies “Berlusconi”.
Not that I’m defending Trump, but, seriously, Italy did make Berlusconi the leader of their country multiple times.
Not that anyone deserves to be stiffed for work performed, but why anyone would even bid on a contract with HO and his companies is beyond my comprehension. Seriously, what did they expect would happen, that they would be the one company who was finally able to break the cycle of non-payment by HO? Come on, folks, do your homework – this is how Orange Man and His Kids have operated for decades. Your crying to the courts after the fact is a little pathetic. Just stop doing business with them!
haha! I’ll pass that along.
Trump settled the lawsuits on the Trump University fraud - $25 million. He should be forced to settle with these subcontractors on the DC hotel - or “lock him up”. We can’t let him run the government the way he runs his businesses.
We have no ax to grind, political or otherwise. We’re a business. We have 700 employees that we pay every week. We have bills. We are effectively financing this work, and we don’t think it’s right. That’s really it.”
Say what you will, but the Clinton campaign ran a ton of ads about his business practices during the cycle #supposedlyaflawedcandidate
I’m sure there’s some scrap of fallacious argument with which tens of millions can wave away this and scores if not hundreds of similar little conflicts between Trump and his aggrieved contractors going back decades. Like, “It’s all political” or “Well, if you believe the liberal media.” You know, hard-headed commonsense arguments like that from Real Americans.
And really, until Trump starts having bunga-bunga parties while in office, Berlusconi is still number one in the line of corrupt, narcissistic billionaires elected by an uninformed, racist, anti-immigrant electorate because they wanted to blow up the status quo. Though Berlusconi didn’t have access to nukes, so Donny can take the lead pretty quickly.
And we should learn from the Italians. They kept electing him.
Nope. They had to live through Reagan and the Bush crime family too.
serious question–has a country’s credit rating ever been downgraded because the poor credit rating of the leader of the country? If not, can it?
Typical pattern from Common derp and Thief Trump: Build the structure; stiff the builders; let them sue; settle for pennies on the dollar.
Lawyers are on retainers. Why not get every penny you can? Great business.
It’s just damned amazing anyone would ever work for him in any major undertaking. His lifelong MO is to cheat.
So, if you stay in a Trump hotel, and if (as numerous reviews indicate) it “doesn’t meet your expectations,” can you just stiff the hotel and walk away without paying? That would make sense, right? Turn about is fair, right?
Something I posted elsewhere, regarding a friend-of-a-friend who has revealed himself to be fact-proof, that I think is pertinent, regarding the credulons who are capable of believing absolutely anything, as long as it feeds their chosen narrative:
[This poster] is symptomatic of a trend that I find truly disturbing. We now have a significant portion of the population that doesn’t seem to be able to separate objective, verifiable facts from bullshit. Someone puts a plate of bullshit in front of them, and they reach for a large spoon. You stop them, and patiently explain that this is a plate of bullshit. You produce a panel of livestock experts who all agree that this is bullshit. You have the steaming pile tested, and the DNA in it all comes back, “bull.” They listen, and fall silent for a bit. Then you catch them going for the large spoon again.
What I can’t figure out is whether they truly can’t tell fact from fiction, or whether they simply don’t care. Trump’s campaign slogan seems to have been, “Facts don’t matter.” Anyone who doesn’t find that alarming isn’t doing much thinking.
You could cough up a video of Trump raping a teenager, and these people would find a way to disregard it.
“Yeah, but she was UGLY!”
