Discussion: 9 Dead in Texas Biker Gang Shootout

Discussion for article #236443

What is in the Waco water? Seems there is a long history of this kind of insanity in Waco.

Went to lunch on a Sunday after church . . . . ended up in a shootout. I suspect there will be more of this once TX guts concealed carry and allows open carry everywhere.

Men with guns, add a little temper and…
Wanna rethink those gun laws? Or is this the world we want to live in?

And their motorcycles have that distinctive “Harley sound”: “thug, thuggity thuggity thug, thug, thug, thuggity thug…”

When will the white community take responsibility for these wayward hooligans???

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Stupid for being in a biker gang.

Stupid for shooting.

Stupid for…well, just being Texans.

Those bloody biker shootout video games and violent Hollywood movies are to blame for this, not guns. Just ask almost any Texan.

Twin Peak marketing meeting.

“Chuck wouldn’t it help business if we invited a biker gang over for Sunday lunch. We could advertise it as a recruiting event.”
“That is a great idea Bubba.”
"I just had a better idea. Get this. What if we invited three gangs? "
“Hell Bubba, what could possibly go wrong?”

Homicide ensues.

Read this just a few minutes ago at CNN:

To escape the fight, some restaurant customers and employees took cover in the freezer, according to CNN affiliate KWTX. The station reported that more than 100 weapons were recovered, and Waco police said officers were continuing to arrest people arriving with weapons.

The wild, wild west was never like this. What a bunch of morons.

I’d rather be back in combat in Vietnam, than in a restaurant or bar in Texas with a bunch of macho, armed, undisciplined yahoos looking for a fight. Much better chance of surviving in Vietnam.

Might have been best to let them all waste each other, a-hole rowdy gangs (though not possible due to all the innocents in the area).

Although sometimes you can root for one group of thugs to beat another group of thugs, even if it’s a fictional movie.

I would also note though that most bikers are actually good people who just enjoy biking the country, I know many. But forming gangs is just a macho thing, and that leads to trouble usually.

tsk, tsk, white-on-white violence

Should the cops have acted to stop the fight or just secured the perimeter so it didn’t spill into the surrounding community? Maybe you just let 'em go at it? Self cleaning oven?

Are we sure this wasn’t a false flag operation intended to distract us from the impending federal takeover of Texas?

When I was in my early 20’s a biker friend of mine invited me to a kegger. I remember laughing when we got there because the other bikers all called my friend “Dumb one.”

Anyway, we are all standing around at this old rock quarry when people started pulling out pistols and plinking. Dumb one pulled out his old 44 Bulldog - a big gun shooting an archaic slow traveling bullet. At nearly point blank range he pulled the trigger and shot an old elm tree. The bullet bounced back and hit him in the crotch. It took awhile before he could get up.

After that he was simply called Iron Dick Anderson .

Any word of cell phone footage yet?

I did not know that you could arrest a god-fearing, freedom-loving Texan for arriving with weapons of any kind.

There should be some video. I understand that there is a mod for some handguns that incorporates a GoPro type camera and laser sight into the same housing. Flip it over and you’ll find an old style beer can opener. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Never been a cop, but survived 2 tours in Vietnam. If I was a police officer, I would have secured the perimeter until the shooting died down. It is most dangerous to be in a shootout or combat where noone is controlling the shooters/combatants. That’s when the most innocent bystanders become casualties.
