Discussion: 7 Of The Biggest Fibs In Trump’s Speech Attacking 'World-Class Liar' Clinton

Rendell is an ass.

Anyway, he was in the DC Madam’s little black book.

IIRC, I had a fifth-grade reading book entitled “7 is Magic.” That would be about the level of adult Republican minds Trump is targeting.

Because the " Press-titutes " only read what it says on their prompters.

You wondered why the Garden of Eden looked so nice and lush?

no, not fair to compare him to Forrest Gump. Trump has no morals, no ethics, no loyalty and no heart. Gump may have been slow but he was good. Trump is more like Jack in “Lord of the Flies”.

“Fibs?” I’m sorry, but a “fib” is “Yes, that outfit looks good on you” when it kinda doesn’t.

These are lies.

Clinton is a world-class liar, while Trump is barely out of amateur class–silly exaggerations, obvious boasts, and barely coherent insults.

Sorry if I asked this before can’t remember (hectic day): but did I miss something or did the Hillary campaign essentially treated this speech as a non event? I see minimal coverage about it and I see no direct response which makes me think they thought it was a dud.

Ok, I’m not the first or the best, but come on, TPM! Why are you promoting Clinton as a ‘liar’ (even if it’s in quotes) and passing Trump off as just a fibber? That’s kinda yellow in my opinion. I expect better.

Probably because the Department of State tells us they do, to some extent.

This is not to say that Deadbeat Donald’s claim was true.

Actually it’s the USTR at the direction of the EOP that drives 99% of what occurs in our trade negotiations. And yes, I work in the field.

I’m really disappointed that the title of the article refers to these lies as “fibs.” It makes that speech sound much more innocuous than it was. It should really say “7 of the Many Distortions in the Pathological Liar’s Speech…” I think every media outlet needs to stop pussyfooting around the fact that Trump is a liar. Say the words: he’s a liar. Say it often: he’s a liar.

why are republicans so afraid to say “pathological liar”?

This comes from a GOP operative. It makes us wonder if something is seriously wrong, when a GOPer gets it better than a TPM writer.

CRAIG MELVIN (HOST): Tim, any chance today’s speech or the campaign structure changes that Michael just outlined there? Any chances that any of that stuff dampens talk of a never Trump candidate at the convention in Cleveland?
TIM MILLER: I don’t think so, Craig. I’ve got old saying for my friends and the GOP establishment who keep thinking Trump is going to pivot. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Fool me one hundred thousand times, how stupid can we possibly be to keep getting fooled by this guy? And every day I get a call from a reporter who says now is he going to pivot? Now is he going to pivot? No, this is Trump. He says demeaning things to women and minorities, he’s a conspiracy theorist. He’s a liar. This is what we have. And we have to decide, do we want to stick with this person who has no chance to beat Hillary Clinton or should we give the delegates an opportunity to vote their conscience. And that’s where I stand.
