The Deplorable (Cheney), The Despicable (Issa), The Demented (Young).

They have no interest in their constituents, only in achieving power.

Kick their asses to the curb.

MIca seems to have a squirrel pelt on his head. Kind of a sporty Davy Crockett look.

Failure to mention CA-21, where the rich live on 150,000-acre spreads and obsess about how to divert Sacramento River water, and the poor worry about their next meal. Emilio Huerta is running against David Valadao in this super-interesting and competitive race. The biggest threat the GOP faces here are the voters themselves. Valadao’s path to victory is based on a voter turnout of only about a third of what you might find in an East Coast race.

If it gets me away from politics for a few days I’m in .
I can’t take it any more!

Note to Mica HD TeeVee is not your friend.
It is so apparent in the ads he runs here in Florida. At the end of one of the ads it does a close up of his ugly wrinkled puss and the aforementioned dead muskrat while intoning that “He’s been a congressman for 30 years”
He might as well add “Yes I’m a fossil”
Well then it’s time to let someone else have a crack at it, is it not?

I live in Scott Garrett’s district (NJ 5, aka, New Jersey’s Alabama) and every year we are told that we have a really good Democratic opponent (Roy Cho, Mike Schneider, Paul Aaronson, et al). And every year we lose by between 5 and 10 points. So again I am hopeful, but not delusional.

I will say that I see fewer Trump signs than Romney signs, but this is the first time I’m seeing confederate flags in the area. And I’ve been here over 35 years.

Hey, eggroll – is it Valadao or Valadão? El nombre parece Portugués: Está jugando la carta latino?

Yes. He does that. Valadao’s family moved from the Azores to near Hanford to have a dairy. The home language was Portuguese. The Valadao familiy owns a feed-lot dairy operation, putting out lots of methane and requiring huge water equivalent inputs, roughly 7,000 gallons per cow per day due to the need for fodder such as alfalfa which naturally would be done simply by putting the cow to pasture. It was heavily in debt until David went to work for Westands under the guise of congressional rep. He even submitted a bill H.R.2898 - Western Water and American Food Security Act of 2015, a 10-chapter wishlist from his Big Ag and Big Oil constituents. It died in Senate committee, however. Valadao is a classic self-dealer, but the big farmers and oil companies will give him money until the end of oil or farming. Interestingly, the Central Valley, which has about 7 million acres under cultivation, needs to reduce that a further 2 million acres. Insane irrigation, pesiticide and fertilizer practices have toxified and salinized soils to the point where nothing grows. The white selenium-boron-rich dust that blows across the land is known as San Joaquin snow. As tech companies move away from cities, these areas may be good places to develop. There are already two UC campuses and several state universities in the area, so education and a focus on education and technology as Huerta proposes, could set the course for a more sustainable development path in the coming decades.

I’m a 1976 alumnus of one of those Universities, although it was the last of the State Colleges when I was at Harvard on the Highway. Last time I drove down Stockdale Highway it looked like Harvard in the Housing Development.

Babeu is running in the district with the highest Native American population in the U.S. Native Americans know something about bad boarding schools, effectively disqualifying Babeu because of his leadership of a Massachusetts school closed because of its abuse of children. While Democrats don’t like the fact that he tried to deport his lover, Republicans are shocked that his lover was a man. Then there is the fact he hasn’t spent much time being the sheriff, instead asking taxpayers to support his continual campaign. Then there is the fact that the Dems have a very effective field organization and Babeu has nothing to get out the vote in this huge district – the largest in the nation that is not an entire state. It should be an interesting result as the votes come in Tuesday evening.

Huh, KAC cash to deeply anti-gay NJ incumbent.
Looking at her and how she grooms and dresses, you’d think she’d want all the gay assistance she could muster…

This is where the rubber meets the road, we either get rid of the loons or we are stuck with their anti-government beliefs.

Considering the bovine population of Wyoming, they’d do better electing an actual cow.
California and Alaska could really use updates in their representation and Arizona supposedly knows better than to put a little Arpaio Jr wannabe in office.

Texasswampbuggy- I’d be so happy to just get this scoundrel out of my district.

Mica looks like the sort of fossil who might just keep showing up to his House office long after he’d been turfed out. “Well, you say that you got elected in my place, young lady, but I think that opinions might differ on that. Tell you what, let’s wait for Denny Hastert to show up and we’ll get this sorted out.”

Such sweet victory!

After reading this I almost feel sorry for Jolly. Maybe he should also pull a Crist and change his party affiliation.

What is remarkable here are these Republican Congressional candidates running with no money or staff. If the Dems had a DNC chair like Howard Dean again, it would be easy for the Democrats to regain control of the House.
