Discussion: 599 Women Who Attended Blasey Ford's High School Sign Letter Of Support

599 vs. 2

Based on this letter, and the number of signatories, everyone should reject the entire premise of gender-segregated anything-or-other. When that many daughters of the richest parents in the area come right out and say that, oh yeah, they all grew up fair game for every fourth-generation, entitled frat pig in the making, what remaining purpose could possibly be served by sending them there?

Could this be the fate for which the parents intended to groom their daughters? It’s all but unthinkable.

@beattycat Which two? Grassley/McConnell? Murkowski/Collins?

The 2 is in reference to the two of the original 65 (women from Grassley’s letter) who stood by Kavanaugh as a good guy and never had any problems with him during high school ( … even though he went to an all-boys school). Two said they stand by Kavanaugh, the rest either had no comment or didn’t stand by the letter.

Grassley says “Huh?”

And after 2 seconds of thought, “Who cares?”

Is next: Grassley greatly underestimates the Me Too movement and says this shows K is “normal for his environment.”

Sorta OT, but I have to wonder what former Justice Kennedy thinks of everything that has developed after his secret dealings with Trump to get Kavanaugh nominated? Was Kennedy in the least aware of Kavanaugh’s drunk-rapey side?

Toxic masculinity and criminality.

Oh well, The Congressional Republicans already support a President who is a known sexual predator so what is one more alleged one on the Supreme Court going to matter?

I saw the number “599” and thought “midterms.” I wonder if McConnell et al. made that connection as well.

I’ld say the toxic masculinity that starts at Georgetown Prep really does not stay at at Georgetown Prep.

And therein lies a huge part of the problem.

ETA: Just to be clear, the problem isn’t solely Georgetown Prep. It’s the whole education system of children of privilege. The schools go by different names, but they tend to produce the same toxic product.

@beattycat (Slaps forehead!) Of course. Thanks for the clarification.

Does McConnell have a backstop for this? Maybe a petition with 3000 names that was prepared back in May because they knew about BK’s alcoholism, porn-love, and misogyny? It’s what makes him valuable to wingnut billionaires and PACs—loyalty to the master class and gender, PLUS he’s blackmailable if he ever thinks of straying. It’s why they back Trump 100%.

Wait, she couldn’t find 600? Fake news…

He may have been aware or may not have, but one thing we know: he doesn’t care either way.

So… is this a numbers games now? Kavanaugh is unqualified for lying to Congress plus his support for Bork’s unitary power of POTUS philosopher [that in his practice only applies to Democrats].
