The parents of these two children are TOO STUPID to own a gun, leaving it out in an area for a five-year-old to pick up and handle. GMFB!
I have a crazy crazy wish that the kid had shot both parents in the head, âaccidentallyâ, of course.

I saw on the news earlier the mother saw the child handling the weapon but didnât take it away because she thought it was a paintball gun.
Is there a law against stupidity?
The sheriff has it down. It was an accidental, fatal shooting of a 9 month old baby by a 5 year old kid. No need for further action hereâŚit was an accident.
Paint ball guns are not benign. A paint ball gun at close range could severely injure that baby too.

This is just silly. Why donât we prosecute the owners of weapons who are negligent. This statement is just anti-gun, and makes no sense at all. No wonder people wont listen when reasonable gun laws are proposed, they are afraid you want ALL their guns. You would just outlaw all ownership, and as a liberal responsible gun owner, I disagree with your philosophy.

There is a right to defend ones home. One the other hand, the parents deserve to go to jail for a long time.

You agree completely with these parents who kept a gun handy so they could grab it and shoot some home invader and protect themselves. If every one who right now is endangering their children by having an unsecured gun in the house went to jail, there wouldnât be room. All you responsible gun owners talk a good game, but the proof comes in the form of tiny little coffins.
I donât want your precious pistols. All I ask is that you responsible gun owners follow the instructions in the owner manuals that come with the guns as a minimum safety requirement.
Edit - Responsible parents include securing the guns when they childproof the house.

Donât assume what I would do. I would not outlaw all ownership, that is a bat-shit crazy absolutist concept that is totally disconnected from reality. People who are paranoid enough to be AFRAID we want all âtheirâ guns are the same people who should not own guns because they canât make rational decisions.
That is like saying that outlawing someone shouting FIRE in a theater is the same as outlawing all Free Speech.
Itâs nuts. It shows an inability to understand nuance, or believe in measured response to anything.
That is why people who propose rational gun laws are always shouted down by the bat-shit crazies funded by the NRA (a trade association for the Gun Manufacturers) and the ammo-sexuals who are in LOVE with only one thing: Their guns.
Defending ones home doesnât even come into the equation. You can do that just fine with any old 12 -gauge single-action double-barreled shotgun. You donât need 37 guns up to and including 50-cal sniper rifles, mortars, and M-2 machine guns (as many of the ammo-sexuals desire) and if you think you are going to âdefend yourself against the gubâmentâ with that stuff, I have news for you. A drone will kill you before you even get out of bed. Ask the Taliban about that.
