Discussion: 5 Points On The Threat Of Trump Issuing Pardons In The Russia Probe

Yeah, I think A is pretty well off the table. We know from all credible and available reporting that Mueller had him dead to rights on a number of charges. Plus, if all he had on him was lying to the FBI, what would be the point of a plea deal containing an agreement to cooperate?

The thing about Kushner is that he has absolutely no business being involved in our government, maybe even less than Trump does, which is like negative no business, right?

Talking to his idiot F-i-L, fine, solving world peace, no. And if he’s the one in charge of that to date, then Trump’s Israel policies demonstrate a whole slew of reasons why not.

I want Trump and his entire ill-begotten family to get the Egyptian Treatment after he gets impeached/indicted/convicted with extreme prejudice.

The silence with respect to Hicks and Giuliano is very interesting. Especially Giuliano. He went from rabid Trump support to complete blackout. Not within his character. Not at all. This silence is being forced on him. Perhaps under duress of serious legal jeapordy?

I’ve thought the same thing all these months cause Rudy’s silence is very uncharacteristic as you said.

Trump will pardon anyway. He thrives on chaos.
By now he probably is done being president and can’t figure a way out and look good doing it.

It’s either a pardon by Lee Iacocca or a Korean pop star.

Oh I dunno plucky, I’m sure he’s seen it on some teevee show at least. It’s not him, but the GOP and their owners that we need to worry about, the tools manipulating this disgusting fool. Bannon can whisper sweet nothings in Trump’s ear, McConnell can latch onto the Martial Law option as yet another unturned stone for him to use, Kelly can help, Hannity and Beck and O’Reilly can marshal their legions, and poof, trouble in River City!!

It’s just bizarre, but he’s also a former federal prosecutor so I imagine he’s read the tea leaves, talked to a few friends, and realized he better shut up and CYA. It’s his only hope for staying out of Mueller’s sights.

Even if there was some kind of plan, McConnell sure as hell wouldn’t be in on it. He’s evil, not stupid.

And since he lives in a fantasy world where he is the bestest bester at everything, legacy won’t enter into his ā€œcalculationsā€ (saying trump calculates is like saying a calculator can think).

The firm that hired Steele had been engaged for oppo research by a right-wing outfit, but IIRC Steele’s assignment [the ā€œdossierā€] came after the Dems took over as clients.

Just the idea of the Wolf issuing pardons in the Hen House is enough to create so much more disbelief and carnage than already exists. The results of this investigation must restore our faith in the government to an acceptable level. With DT conducting the current three ring circus it will never happen.

Can someone be pardoned for something they didn’t do? I ask because nothng is out of the realm of the possible when trump is involved.

Doesn’t a pardoned person have to spill his/her guts? AKA: tell the truth about their crime? Perhaps I’m befuddled. I can’t think t-rump would want whoever he pardoned blabbing. More likely Putin will have them irradiated or tossed out a window. Or that always fools 'em: heart failure. Unless its in a car parked in an alley.

I call it bliss.

Quite. Sheriff Joe didn’t have any dirt on t-rump.

Welp, trump made a grand entrance on his Gold Escalator at trump tower to announce his run for office. Praps he could just ride the damned thing back up from the lobby of his tower and depart into the darkest oblivion.
btw: I found an image of what trump tower is like behind the glitzy facade…

I’m sure he’s heard of it on TV, but besides what you mentioned, the 1864 election was conducted while the US was under martial law.

Trump doesn’t even know what being a CEO is like. His ā€œbusinessā€ is a series of shell companies that he can run without accountability to anyone. As long as the people he borrowed from get paid, he can keep paying himself as much as possible; and periodically he declares bankruptcy and they get screwed over as well. He’s never had to answer to shareholders or a board of directors, never had to be concerned about real profit margins or stock price. The one time he tried, he fucked it up completely and everybody but him lost their shirts.

Well, I didn’t mean to suggest that Trump has ever been the examplar of a CEO/Businessman, just that he was perceived to be one during the campaign because the MSM spent more time on Hillary’s e-mails than on Trump’s ā€œbusiness practicesā€ over the years. :-/
