Nunes had a different opinion of the intelligence community in 2014 in regards to the Snowden leaks.

My favorite:
That’s why it’s more important than ever that the U.S. maintain strong intelligence capabilities throughout the world. But for the last year, various groups have sought to curtail our intelligence activities based on selectively presented, maliciously leaked documents about anti-terror programs that are widely misunderstood and whose effects have been wildly exaggerated.
I wonder what happened between 2014 and 2016 that changed his mind…?
I have wanted to use the “toddler walking into the swinging door” gif for months. But I just don’t have the heart…So apt tho…
The Nunes memo isn’t supposed to prove a thing. It serves two purposes:
-
Provide a shiny object for LoFo Trump followers; and
-
Offer a flimsy pretext for Trump to fire Rosenstein, and impose a lackey who in turn will fire or hamstring Mueller.
More backwards/opposite nonsense to look forward to.
This entire shitwshow…from Russian interference to Mueller’s investigation to Trump and the GOP’s obstruction of justice to the Clown Memo…shows that the FISA Court and process was working and assisting us in catching this kind of behavior.
ERGO, the Clown Memo will now be used by the GOP to claim that FISA needs to be cut back, narrowed, restricted, etc., so they don’t get caught again in 2020.
Perhaps this was the tertiary purpose of the memo: to paint such a ridiculously hyperbolic picture of rampant politicized FISA abuse that they could essentially prevent FISA from being used to monitor their behavior when they try this again during an election.
three. Help protect Page, because he knows something.
four. Pretense for changing FISA to prevent it from catching them in the act next time.
It’s too late for Carter Page. He’s in Mueller’s sight. The Trump GOP aren’t helping him at all, since the original FISA warrant was issued in 2013.
Your point on FISA restrictions is most intriguing!
Not having read the memo, could some please tell me if scattrred thought the memo you see the text “Squirrel!!!” ?
Aren’t the Repugs supposed to be working on a budget? What’s going on with that while we play with this shiny object? And WTF else is trump destroying while we look away?
Yeah, but it’s not working. The only thing it’s doing is make everybody laugh at Devin Nunes.
I’ll grant you that this is a worthwhile cause, even an important one.
OK, I’ll bite…
…and the Dow just dropped 665 points.
Boy, that sure was a fucking historic SOTU speech Trump made Tuesday night, wasn’t it? I mean, that’s all anyone’s been talking about for the last three fucking days. LOL!
The counter narrative question is: Why did Trump hire a Russian spy into his campaign?
Nunes always looks like he’s having a hemorrhoidal incident. (Hint: He is).
I don’t think so. This is being pretty widely panned today. Like I said earlier in the week, the value of this was not releasing it, and hinting at big things to come…actually releasing this just makes Nunes look even more like an incompetent.
Sure, there will be folks on the fringe like Trump and my Congress critter Gaetz who will try to continue their DOOM! narrative, but I think most GOPers will just want to move on and forget this episode even happened.
Nobody thinks Carter Page is a hill worth dying on.
An incompetently composed memo that hurts the cause of team trump more than it helps (at least for anyone who isn’t in the ~38% of trump fellaters)?
I’m stunned, just stunned! I so expected an open and shut case from the masters of the universe on team orange!
Doesn’t this end up not mattering since Page has already spoken with Mueller and Congress?
Embarrassing Incompetence
