There’s nothing to investigate according to Trump and anyone who disagrees will be fired.

He fires the witnesses to his crimes and then uses the fact of their firing, always in the passive voice, to discredit them. It’s a crude tactic; whether it’s also going to be effective we haven’t seen yet. Trump seems to think 99 percent about persuading his idiot minions. Persuading professional investigators or the legal system in general, not so much.

What’s sad is I doubt DJT felt the ā€œhe believed Putinā€ dagger thrust as deeply as he should have. That was devastating.

It’s important that he is impeached. Removal will not happen—Trumpublicans won’t cross their Crazy Base. But it’s important for the historical record that a Dem-majority House spell out Putin Puppet’s offenses in articles of impeachment. If that doesn’t happen, the Weimar Republic comparisons write themselves. With the Wall Emergency declaration we are in fact under marshall law. Say it, Dems! It’s actually a winning election issue, too: ā€œDemocrats are for democracy!ā€

And Dotard’s deplorable approval rating remains rock solid.

Ignorance is bliss…

It is enough to convince his base, that happens to be the GOP base. That is enough to keep the GOP behind him. This keeps him in office untill 2020.

That he talks to Putin is not surprising to me. My question is how often do these chats occur?

The evidence of tRump’s treasonous behavior has long been in plain sight for the entire world to see. Mueller can provide us with mountains of non-public documentation to support the obvious treachery of the ā€˜president’ but he won’t be telling us something we don’t already know.

The real problem we have is that the fascistgop has gone all in with their support of a buffoonish thug heading our government. And between having the support of a deplorable 30% and the ability to game the system (flat out cheat the system in many cases) they have a chance to rip democracy from our hands.

The fight to regain a representative system of governance dedicated to advancing the common good will be going on for years. Whoever first said ā€œthe price of liberty is eternal vigilanceā€ wasn’t exaggerating.

Whatever else Nixon was, he was a Patriot first.

When will the Republicans wake up and realize the damage they’re doing to the country by allowing this guy to stay in office?

Disagree. Trump’s base is angry and happy to bite whoever on command of Fox, Coulter, Limbaugh and friends. Trump has harvested their fans but he does not pull their strings.

Some of this nonsense he gets himself into is out of fear of retribution from his base.

If Fox News simply covered negative Trump stories (for example they never ran a story about the recent inauguration committee drama) and used non-misleading headlines on the ones they do cover, I reckon that would be enough to scuttle Trump. Senators fall in line because Republicans are in line. If Fox News changes their mind about what Republicans should believe, it will change. Trump cannot defeat Fox News.

If Trump is proven to have committed serious crimes, Fox News can’t do much to spin that. Republicans similarly supported Nixon right up until the moment they didn’t, at which point he was toast and resigned in disgrace.

I hate to admit it but that’s looking likelier all the time. But we’ve had periodic major shocks that really shook him, and he seems driven to demonstrate his malevolent incompetence pretty much continually. So I think there’s a chance it all comes crashing down, because I think there are many more revelations to come in a situation that’s more volatile than it might appear.

We’re seeing more essays to the effect that the ā€œconservativeā€ right is effectively a cult: They ignore scientific info and documented journalistic and historical info. Twist facts to support their beliefs.
Very, very hard to fight cultish thinking.

The ā€œ100 contacts with Russiansā€ should be reported as ā€œ100 independently proven contacts with Russiansā€ plus anyone’s guess how many other contacts. Mueller knows more about this than we do, but I think the number will be staggering.

If the situation with tRump isn’t obvious to the Rethugs by now, I feel like they all must be drunk or on drugs. Every once in awhile, I wonder if they may be plotting, in secret, to agree as to how they can get rid of him, but they’re all cowards.
One thing to hope for is a strong candidate will run against McConnell and win and that Dems will regain the Senate.
If we have to watch and wait till 2020 for something to happen with tRump, lots of us will be seeing mental health professionals.

You may as well remove the ā€œI thinkā€ from that… I think we’re well beyond guessing at this point. It’s so blatantly obvious and in-your-face for the entire time…

Exactly. We’ve seen time & time again how well Fox News Conspiracy Theories play out in court.

There’s a lot more to come:

  1. Continued shenanigans (and worse) from the GOP
  2. Indictments and court cases and any reports from the Special Counsel
  3. Congressional investigations

These are eye opening for those not following closely. For those that do, it is just more confirmation. What is most concerning is that the GOP is fully complicit. They are just dandy with Trump, Trumpism and the Russian influence.

For proof of the indefeasible ability cultists have, witness that 600 people paid money to attend the Flat Earth Society International Conference in 2018 and tickets sales are strong for the 2019 conference.
