Fuc’ing nuts with their fuc’ing guns!!
Make it stop!
The massacre of the day in America, but no cop murders of innocent Black Men today, yet. Plenty of time however for more assassinations under the Obama Justice Dept. which is MIA / DOA when it comes to control of police mass murders (~9000 civilians killed by cops since 9/11): http://readersupportednews.org/news-section2/318-66/38002-us-police-have-killed-nearly-9000-civilians-since-911.

Of course on Day One of Trump’s administration this sort of stuff will immediately cease. Trump says so himself, it must be true, otherwise Chuck Todd would call him out on it.
It’s not going to stop. You live in a nation that glorifies militarism, and fetishizes weaponry. That bell isn’t getting unrung. You can’t even go to a damned professional basketball game without being hectored to stand and salute some color guard of assorted soldiers with rifles slung over their shoulders and the flags of every killing department in the DoD waving at you. Death and mayhem and violence are a part of every American’s DNA, every bit as much as the DNA that determines the color of your eyes.
The mall was likely full of Good Guys With Guns™. Why didn’t one of them take the perp out and then celebrate with a visit to Chick-Fil-A?
Open carry without a permit is lawful in Washington State. Between that, and the easy proliferation of weapons in the United States, every lunatic gets one free bite at the mass-destruction apple.
The current headline on the NRA website.
You’re free, unless you want to shop or earn money at the Cascade Mall today.
Your NRA — Entrepreneurs Keep Out.
Mass murder-mass murder.

Safe zones my paranoid ass.
There is no such thing as a safe zone. It only takes one gun. If the ‘unsafe’ zone that’s filled with weapons and gun idiots is supposedly any safer, I’ll eat a GD assault rifle.
There is a lobbying firm for guns in every hand and a supply chain that makes sure that there is no shortage. There is a cable channel dedicated to propaganda and a small thing known as the military to glorify it all.
There are hyped up and pissed off individuals around every corner and in most every family.
There’s rampant inequality that balances quickly by the firing of a weapon. You cheat me-disrespect me and hold me down and I’ll kill you and everyone around you easily.
Because guillotines aren’t easily accessible, are hard as hell to reload and they don’t fit in my coat.
And whatever you do, don’t trust the cops to help because they are infested with the same lovers of guns and the killing of human targets.
If it walks on 2 feet and has a gun, fear it, stay away from it and have an exit strategy in place. Because wise!
He is now eligible to enter the free drawing for a life membership in the NRA.
Why are you reaching back to early in the Dubya administration to claim murders of civilians by cops that can be blamed on Obama?
Trump would call this Mexican terrorism. I’m surprised he didn’t tweet this already. After all, only white people should own guns.
While I agree that the ‘stand and salute the troops’ nonsense at sporting events has gotten way out of hand, we don’t honor our military personnel for being willing to kill for us. We honor them for their willingness to die for us. They do not go to war without our approval—not even under Dubya. We tell them to go. We elect the leaders who give them their orders. The deeds they do, the traumas they bear, both in the memories of lives taken, and the memories of lives they could not keep from being taken, are our doing. They carry the scars of being the instruments of our will, and it is for that, not the carnage, that we honor them.
And yes, it’s real easy to say that ‘I didn’t vote for Dubya’ or ‘I opposed the Iraq War’. In this case, this limited case, that’s meaningless. Because they won’t ask you who you voted for. They won’t ask what your politics are. They might disagree with you. They might think you are utterly wrong and foolish.
They will still die to protect you, if that is what they’re called upon to do.
They got the guy, though there’s nobody at work at TPM to let you know:
Arcan Cetin, Age 20 of Oak Harbor, Washington. Born in Turkey, legal permanent resident of the United States.
Let the panic begin.
I thought that too last night when I saw the police press conference. It is interesting that the witnesses who originally saw him, thought he might be Mexican or latino, and I am sure it was just because he is probably brown skinned. When I saw the photo they published, I immediately saw a middle eastern man. I heard last night he may have some mental disorder issues. Again, someone who should not have a gun has one.
The one thing all these mass killings have in common, is not dependent upon ethnicity, religion or political ideology. If we take an assessment of the shooters, they are all angry, aimless young men in their twenties who’ve already committed minor acts of violence in their lives. They’ve all exhibited signs of mental distress to their families before finally lashing out in a big display of rage. Their families either don’t understand what they are observing, or if they do, they do not have a reliable place to turn to for help. We have to do a much better job of reading and responding to the signs before the outburst. If a family is fearful of their son, we have to be able to have the legal tools to either restrict their access to weapons and/or allow for involuntary commitment for psychiatric evaluation. The gun initiative on the ballot this election in Washington state addresses the access to guns part – which of course the NRA is fighting. The other part of the problem – getting these ticking bombs psychiatric help before they kill seems essential. I realize these are civil liberties issues, but damn – is it better to let them hurt so many people and themselves?
EDITED TO ADD: "The Seattle Times reports that Cetin’s criminal record includes three assault charges related to domestic violence, the victim being Cetin’s stepfather. Cetin also was arrested on a drunken driving charge, the Times reports. A judge told Cetin Dec. 29 he could not possess a firearm, according to the Times. His stepfather convinced the judge not to impose a no-contact order. He said his stepson was “going through a hard time.”
And innocent people are dead, and we have to accept this as the cost of needing an armed citizenry to stop the US Army (or is it Mitch McConnell, I get those two confused) when their approval rating drops to something like 13%.
It’s actually called Cascade Mall, so the correct headline would be “5 Dead In Shooting At Cascade Mall in Washington State”
Washington State Mall is not its name. Could also be “5 Dead In Shooting At Mall In Washington State”
I know it’s not you guys, the AP editors are such trash.
