Discussion: 42,000 DACA Recipients Missed Last Chance Renewal Deadline

This breaks my heart. There will be no legal recourse and our current administration shows no aptitude for ‘mercy’. We can’t even take care of our citizens without denigrating them for ‘breaking the budget’. I am sick about what my country has become. Absolutely sick.

I imagine a certain number were simply unaware of the deadline, but a greater number, I suspect, have absolutely no faith in this DoJ…with very good cause. Truly an abomination of an Administration.

Dragging them screaming and crying across the border will play well on the evening nooze.
Well done Trump
What would a dick do?

I have two caregivers who were born elsewhere but are now US citizens. They believe any Dreamer who registers is a fool.

“Aside from public announcements, the Trump administration made no effort to reach out to eligible DACA recipients to encourage them to renew their permits in time.”

This is like the old trick that workplace bully cliques use to sabotage a targeted co-worker: tell everyone to attend a meeting except the target, then blame the target for not being there

Except that this was for renewal, which means they’d already registered. If by some miracle the program’s saved in some form (I know…), I hope they can retain/renew their status.

I wonder if some are simply trying to fade away or go underground. Not an irrational choice but if by some chance DACA comes back in strong form it might make getting back in tougher.

Exactly. When given a choice of trusting anyone in the Cockholster Claque and going underground, I’d go underground in a heartbeat.
