Discussion: 4 Times The Bundys Have Joined Anti-Government Efforts Since BLM Standoff

Discussion for article #244273

These questions were all settled in 1865. Someone needs to inform the Bundy family.

One positive result of this idiocy is that there has only been one piece about Trump today.

So, they’re addicted to the spotlight of media attention.

They’re just like the Kardashians.

Except with guns.

And no one, ever, ever, wants to see what they look like scantily clad.

(In fact, I’d like to forget that I ever mentioned the very idea. Can someone pass the brain bleach, please?)

Okay…I’m coming in late to this. Been “off-line” for the last few days in a blissful cabin with no internet or cell service. I highly recommend a getaway like this for all, for the record. So, what the shit is going on here? I don’t get the Bundy kid’s gripe. They took over a wildlife refuge in protest of two arsonists? So, they are okay with arson? This sounds like an awful, boring, pointless story.

I’m not privy to their purpose in these actions, but I’d say that while they come across as clowns to some degree (well armed clowns), that what they’ve been successful in demonstrating is how toothless the Federal government is when challenged by these groups. It makes sense that we’d want to avoid bloodshed when possible, but the total lack of Federal response just encourages them to escalate their provocations and encourage others to do so as well since apparently the law is largely meaningless since it’s not applied to them.

Its not a matter of being toothless. Its a matter of them trying to avoid having to kill these idiots and making them martyrs to other idiots, who might go and commit more deadly terrorist attacks. EX: Waco/Timothy McVeigh

With toddler clowns, the potty and gun training classes have been very successful.
This is my potty chair, this is my gun,
One is for eeeew, the other for gov…

A group of heavily armed people have seized property that is not theirs and are threatening grievous bodily harm to anyone, especially lawful authorities, who approach and/or try to stop them. So please tell me, how are these jerks any different from the couple who shot up San Bernardino, the idiot who attacked the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood center, the shooters in Aurora, Sandy Hook, Paris, etc. They are all terrorists. The only difference here is that no one has been killed . . . yet.

While I appreciate the authorities’ wish to avoid violence, at the same time there needs to be a response to stop this kind of unlawful, and yes terrorist activity. Frankly, the self-appointed, home-grown militants are a far greater threat to the safety of the average citizen than is ISIS, al-Qaeda, or any of the other jihadist fanatics.

We can be smart about it and do what we can to avoid bloodshed (blockade them and wait them out, for instance), but the law must be enforced if it’s to have any meaning. It’s not simply a choice between going in with full force and walking away. Thus far, we’ve chosen to walk away entirely and that’s just served to make things worse as it encourages them and likeminded groups who’re exploiting the weakness.

Wonder if Randy’s gonna mosey on over to OreGone to support the YeeHadists? ( Thanks to whoever coined the term. Let me know if it’s you.)

Yep, its ridiculous that the feds still haven’t done anything to the Bundy ranch.

Throw a drone - dropped firecracker into the 'compound" …see how many are killed by ‘friendly’ fire.

All I get from these people are they are really looking for a fight. They do not understand much of anything despite being supposed uber patriots. As they have lost everywhere they have gone. Also, why would anyone even potentially speak out against background checks? I know it is the conservative position, but it really does not impede lawful people from getting them.

Easy!

  1. They’re White.

  2. They’re Christian (at least claim to be).

That picture of the families in the 4 wheelers is evocative. After guns, 4 wheelers are the biggest source of pride for many rural guys. They also refuse any attempt at regulating them, even tho many many kids die each year because they operate them when they shouldn’t, and wind up underneath them or thrown from them. It’s sad but true.

The casualty rate from the 4 wheelers here in western Montana is something else again. Seems like the highest rate of fatalities are the idiots driving the ATVs whilst drunk. And there are always the accidents involving children every year. They (ATV types) also seem to derive great pleasure driving off road, despite posted notices to the contrary, and ripping up the countryside.

Yes, it does, but not for the reason you are implying.

These clowns are trying to provoke a response. They keep trying, because the government is not giving them the response the clowns have been hoping to get.

It was a mistake, IMO, to tolerate weapons pointed at US officials at the first Bundy ranch standoff. That should have merited one final warning, and a strong response if the warning was ignored.
