I told ya they found the bill …hidden in the toilet tank —

It was really close to where it should of been …

Under “lock and key”, huh?

Aren’t these the same people who complained endlessly about being unable to read the entire bill that was the ACA due to a lack of time and length of the bill?

Is their bill on a cocktail napkin or something?

The plan “does not provide stability and certainty for individuals and families”?? Isn’t that the entire goal of repealing the ACA? To screw over those undesirables like myself with pre existing conditions who self insure so we’ll rush off into corporate arms and be good little worker slaves just for healthcare?

Trump has no plan to leave this office. I think he’s planning to stay forever. He’s running roughshod over everything and everyone. Limited to his power? Please, he thinks it’s unlimited. Hope he’s bounced out soon. Pence is a scary thought too. A different kind of scary.
I just realized I posted this in the wrong thread, apologies.

Only four? They’ll push it through. Horror awaits when people find out how screwed they are, by which point many will be deep in medical debt.

Trumpcare is just as horrible as we thought it would be. More horrible if possible.

It’s really hard to see this thing passing or working in their favor at all. They probably don’t have the numbers in either chamber to pass a bill at all. If they gut the whole thing they get the Freedom Caucus, but they’ll lose the expansion state Rs. If they try to keep people covered, they’ll lose the Freedom Caucus, along with others who fear a primary challenge.

Hence, this entire exercise seems pretty stupid. They’re somehow trying to simultaneously convince the public that the cuts aren’t cuts and the hard liners that they’re cutting everyone off. This will fool no one.

I’m not sure what the end game is here. If this ever gets to the floor it won’t pass, especially since democrats can filibuster big parts of it. Indeed a filibuster is the best they can hope for. Either way, they’ll have put out an idea that will turn most Americans off once they see what it means for them, enrage insurers who will still have to cover existing conditions without a mandate, and won’t satisfy the hard right that wants the entire program wiped from history.

It’s hard to believe they’re this clueless.

I’d love for you to be right, but this is the Age of Trump and don’t ever underestimate the capacity for stupid to win.

AZ is an expansion state too, and Flake is up for re-election. I’m not sure he’s a solid yes either. For that matter there are some non-idiots in the caucus. Is Collins going to vote down coverage for millions? Is Murkowski?

I think they might be willing to go along with a lost cause, but at least some of these people know that their opposition to the ACA was mostly a talking point, and they don’t want people dying for political position.

If we can convince GOP Senate and House politicians that spinal implants are covered under ACA, and they take advantage of it, this wonderful country might actually survive Tweeto Cheeto.

They don’t want people dying for politics?!? They don’t want their meal ticket yanked prematurely. Millions could be left destitute or dead and Republican reptiles would not care. They care if they are ‘former Senator’ or ‘former Representative’ … that’s ALL.

I can’t imagine what the debt is going to look like since they plan on cutting taxes up front for the rich, while keeping the medicaid and subsidies long enough to not piss off to many people to soon. This is nothing but pre ACA and will drive the uninsured rate up, and with that premiums up. It gives to the rich and takes from the poor

I’m beginning to wonder if democracy is a very good idea anymore, if the population isn’t mature or wise enough to at least not vote against themselves. I mean how do republicans keep coming back to power after they prove again and again they are incompetent? And this time they give us a mentally ill person as president, and a large part of the population votes for him, because they may also be mentally ill

It doesn’t come close to offering the things Trump promised. But, of course, Trump won’t read it and they’ll lie to him when he asks in his serious voice from central casting if it does. And he’ll be fine with it. We’re fucked.

Our only hope is that these problems will keep the bill from being enacted until 2018, when we run these dipshits out on a rail.

Dog finally catches car. Clueless what to do with it.

After saving ObamaCare, Sens. Rob Portman (R-OH), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), will lower taxes so it goes under.

So don’t get your hopes up

I totally agree. You know that the Governors of the Medicaid expansion states are in full blown panic about what might happen and are in talks with their delegation.

The goal of the ACA was to increase the number of covered Americans. The goal of Trump care is to put more money in the pockets of insurance companies.

The only winners in this bill are the wealthy, because they get a tax break.

Rather than enriching them, this bill will drive insurers into bankruptcy. By leaving the ban on pre-existing condition restrictions in place while also eliminating the mandate, they create an unsustainable model. Sure, there’s the ‘continuous coverage’ loophole, which is a thinly veiled attempt to screw sick people, but enough will stay on their plans, or transition directly between them, that policy costs will skyrocket. When that happens, healthy people will (foolishly) opt out because the costs won’t be sustainable for them. So, insurers will be left with a dwindling pool of sick patients that increasingly go bankrupt. The business model won’t work, and, once companies start dropping out, those that remain will start using tricks to kick sick people off while jacking prices up even further.

I’m sure the GOP is hearing this loud and clear from the industry. However, they HAVE to kill the ACA or at least appear to be trying. I’m sure that Ryan is praying for a passing vote in the house, followed by a Democrat filibuster in the Senate, so he can pass blame for why they can’t fix things. Then, they can go to their idiot base and whine for more support in 2018. ‘We’re SO close to ending tyranny! Help us elect more Republicans!’
