You can do that ?

Usually, they try to move the venue, not the jurors.

Misunderstanding what is meant by “a jury of one’s peers”.

“This case is uniquely political because much of the anticipated evidence will center around, and was in reaction to, the 2016 Presidential election,” defense attorneys wrote.

Guessing that this defense will be attempted other places as well. I hope some journalists are taking note and keeping track (hint, hint.)

Is this a new, hybrid, hyper-improved “Stand Your Ground” defense — Now with 100% MORE Jury Shopping!™?

Maybe we could just cut to the chase and hold the trial in the Oval Office during commercial breaks, along with the subsequent awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and be done with it.

Efficiency.

It’s Kansas so consider it done. In fact, I would expect these wonderful patriotic Americans to be members of Trump’s cabinet sometime next year. Perhaps Trump will form a Department of Mosque Bombing and make these gentlemen the new Secretary and under-secretaries of this grand new department.

The Bundy defense.

Wow, so these defendants want to pick the jury members, what only family members needed. What’s next, people accused of murder want O. J. on their juries?

I guess we can drop all the “justice” crap and come right out with it. The facts don’t matter. What counts are the political views of the jury. So assemble the Jury…poll them on their views and declare a verdict. No point in superfluous court antics.

they should also make sure their parents are on the jury

The Xtian right, aided and abetted by the ADF, used the 1st Amendment freedom of speech argument to win court sanctioned approval of its anti-abortion protests and are now asserting the same argument in the gay baker case, but claiming that the planned bombing of a mosque is constitutionally protected speech and assembly and the right to bear arms is, shall we say, a bit extreme. I wonder if the NRA will file an amicus brief.

The judge responded:

So your client is pleading Not Guilty by way of Insanity?

Makes sense to me…the dim asking for the dim. Sad.

“(Defense attorney’s) argued the case will require jurors to weigh whether the alleged conduct constitutes a crime, or whether it is constitutionally protected speech and assembly and the right to bear arms.”

Solid effing brass balls.

In a word: no.

Dumbfucks. What is the criteria for passing the bar in Kansas? Correctly writing your name?

Three men accused of plotting to bomb a mosque and apartment complex housing Somali refugees asked a federal judge Friday to include prospective jurors from rural western Kansas because they are twice as likely to have voted for President Donald Trump.

Two questions: (1) since when is plotting to bomb a mosque considered “political speech”? and (2) since when are “bombs” protected by the Second Amendment?

Dumbfucks.

Drop “correctly” and you got it.
