Discussion for article #224741

This repetitious policy of an “eye for an eye” vengeance is working out well for both the Israeli’s and Palestinians.

Expecting Avigdor Lieberman to screech for their release and elevation to National Heroes any minute now.

It’s people like these murderers who make me hope there really is a hell.

" Measured response" ??

During all of 2013 and 2014 so far, there has not been a single fatality and a handful of minor injuries from “Palestinian rockets”.

Measured Response: There have been several airstrikes just this month from the Israeli Air Force against Palestinian targets in civilian areas of Gaza Multiple deaths and injuries, homes destroyed.

Given that the Israeli response is fairly predictable, the actions of those firing the rockets are both stupid and despicable. But this is usually excused on the basis of hysteria, oh, excuse me – emotion.

I wonder if Congress will issue a joint, nearly unanimous resolution supporting Israel this week? Cooler heads may prevail, and Congress might put off the resolution until next week to allow for more “facts” to be gathered.

Meanwhile, American fanatics and American treasure continue to enlarge and enrich illegal settlements in the unapologetically, aptly named Occupied Territorys.

This is the response of the vast majority of Israelis.

The entire region seems to have denigrated into one morass of governing by the extremes. No peace process is able to move beyond the actions of a single extremist, from either side, which is then responded to as if committed by an entire peoples.

Then the official governments of both sides gleefully support the illegal actions of their own peoples, while decrying those committed by the others.

Committing murder in the name of religion demands that that religion throw these fellows out. Excommunicate them. If Judaism could excommunicate Baruch Spinoza for supporting democracy and causing them trouble in Holland, why not send these vicious kids packing?

The full force of secular law has to come down on them, but it’s time for religious Judaism do likewise. They aren’t defending Judaism or Israel, they just want to commit murder.

Not according to the comments in The Jerusalem Post:

“Why not simply turn off the water and lights and let Hamas deal with that for a while ! Want to bet the rockets stop real quick! The murder of 3 Israeli kids and one Palestinian Kid is just plain sick and just shows you how this situation is now fully out of control!
The way I see it one side needs to win an all out victory and destroy the other sides arms and ability to fight! I will count on and support Israel to end this once and for all, it the only real way to a solution!”

Trust me, this is fairly moderate.

When Netanyahu just 6 days ago said:

“Revenge over the blood of a small child is not the devil’s work, and neither is revenge for the blood of a teenager or young man - who was on his way to meet his parents - and whom was never seen again,”

He has zero legitimacy to now “condemn” the revenge killing. Sorry, but this is on your head as much as you claim the killing of the three Israeli teens is on Hamas’s head. Even more so since you publicly said revenge is morally acceptable.

You sir are as bad (and I posit worse) than the thugs who murdered the Israeli teens because you are the elected head of the Israeli government who incited it and posture yourself as a legitimate leader.

Watch the suspects claim they were justified under Talmudic Law and demand to be tried in the Religious Court system in Israel, which will find them “innocent” of their definition of “murder”.
