Proving once and for all that single-payer healthcare is the gateway drug to jewel heists.

Bets on who will make a movie of the escapade, when will it debut and…

Who will play the various parts?

Elderly? Maybe you need to employ more mature headline writer??

When you only employ hipster, 20-something, unpaid interns to write your copy, this is what you get for headlines.
“Oh, like, he is, like, SO OLD! Just like my Dad.”

Do it right. Use one of these:

Yeah, that’s what I thought too. I guess if you are a successful jewel thief, you’d have to some some serious years under your belt to have survived and not gotten caught.

Typical writer’s cheap-out: Experienced jewel thieves, one of whom is in his seventies, finally get caught. Talk about click bait!

Their 401(k)s [along with mine] got raped by Oedipus Tex?

The guy that was 76 was the boss. He had previously spent time in prison for stealing millions in gold bullion. He used his senior bus pass to get the robbery. I think the term “elderly” could safely be applied to him by most.

p.s. if you read medical studies you will sometimes see the term elderly used pretty easily, you read things like this cancer mainly affects (effects?) elderly men with an average age of 59…

Yes, but the 76 year old is not the subject of the article–it’s the three who are most recently convicted. According to the article, they are still of normal working ages (48 to 60).

I thought that it was like an eight pound diamond, making it the largest, but their talking quantity.

I guess the Crown Jewels have never been swiped, even for a little while.

Just for fun, I looked up the author’s profile - she graduated in 2003, so I’d guess she’s about 33, 34 tops. So to her, 48-to-60 probably looks pretty elderly. To which I say, “hey you kid - get off my lawn!”
