Girls of that age have been up and down the “marriagable” status for years. Margaret of Anjou came to Henry IV from France at the age of 15, which was a common age for marriage at that time.
And as you say, thinking and doing are very different. It’s not what we think. It’s what we do. 99.9% of men have nothing to do with such girls. But an accusation of such is terrible. When I coached girls’ soccer, for my daughter’s team, I was very careful to never be alone with any girl. Not because I would do anything, but because a single accusation in such a case would be very serious, and are often misconstrued.
