Facts that should be repeated time and againā€¦

  • The abortion rate is lower in ā€˜liberalā€™ states than ā€˜conservativeā€™ states;
  • Abortion restrictions do not make abortion less common; they ensure embryos develop further before being terminated;
  • Suicide rates for women with unplanned pregnancy are higher in states with few or no clinics or that impose hassles and expense such as waiting periods or police-state shaming techniques such as vaginal wand ultrasound;
  • Rich women will always have safe private medical abortions - the debate Walker, Perry, etc are having is how much to torment middle class and poor women;
  • If you are anti-abortion you should embrace and fund easy access to birth control since (again) states making birth control easy have lower abortion rates.

Scott ā€œred meatā€ Walker is really an asshole. This is nothing but a fat, juicy steak for the Christin reich. He cares not one teeny, tiny bit for fetuses or human beings in general.

And how do they define ā€œemergencyā€? A woman who is actively dying? A woman who risks permanent injury or possible death from continuing the pregnancy? Any provision for a fetus which is discovered to have a defect which is incompatible with life? Any provision for a fetus which is discovered to have a defect which will seriously impact their quality of life, including painful conditions? Wanna bet that if any of the above happened to the wife or daughter of one of these assholes it would get taken care of right away?

In a fetus the part of the brain that perceives pain is not connected to the part of the body that receives pain signals until about 24 weeks from conception. This is according to professors and doctors in obstetrics and gynecology. There are no facts that show that a fetus can feel pain at 20 weeks. So this 20 week abortion ban is totally bogus.

Meanwhile Walker and the other GOPers donā€™t care about the woman being in pain.
