Very lucky the kid isnât dead.
Thatâll learn her for cuttinâ off the flow of grandma candiesâŚ
Hmm.
Iâm still not straight with how this works.
2yo finds gun; loaded, presumably with safety âoffâ.
Shoots grandma. Charges may or may not be filed for endangerment to-- the child?
Where, had the child found a gun at a place of residence-- and say, shot-and-killed a siblingâ
no case would have been likely sought-- as the shooting would likely have been classified as accidental?
Shoot someone. Charges might be filed.
Kill someone. Itâs an accident. No charges filed.
Is this some sort of insurance loophole?
Donât know if Iâll ever figure out how these incidents are perceived legally.

Donât expect any fucking tears from me, even if he had shot the grandmother in the head. I have no sympathy for these people who do not treat guns as the danger that they are. That fucking great aunt should be in jail, and that kid should be in a foster home.
This brings to mind the revised SC state motto: âWhile I Breathe, I Hope (nobody shoots me accidentally).â
As long as he was wearing a seat beltâŚ
Two year old shooter: Bitch better have my brownies!
At least the writers have stopped using âaccidentally shotâ when describing a child using a gun not his own.
How could a two year old, who presumably should have been in a car seat or at the very least had a seat belt on, even reach the pouch? I doubt the kid was even strapped in. This should lead to serious charges. Imagine if the kid has shot the aunt while driving.
Very true. Itâs long past time that these people face felony charges. Thereâs simply no excuse to leave a loaded, easily accessible gun in the presence of a child. None. In a country where you can be charged with vehicular manslaughter for following another vehicle too closely or driving while distracted, true accidents, itâs ridiculous that people who knowingly leave guns around children continue to escape legal consequences.
Rock Hill police Capt. Mark Bollinger told WSOC that the boyâs great-aunt may face charges for leaving the gun in the backseat of her car.
Except she won't.
âThere could even be some child safety laws in violation.â
jeez, ya think? and to law enforcement: this wasnât a fucking âaccidentâ⌠itâs carelessness, willful neglect, stupidityâŚ
In the South child safety laws involve telling Cletus to wear a condom if heâs gonna be spending time with Lilâ Cindy.

âŚbut almost certainly will not be charged.
