Honduras has the highest murder rate in the world because of drug trafficking. Nobody, literally nobody there is safe. That’s why they’re coming here. They’re desperate, just trying to stay alive. Not everyone grasps that, including a lot of people who loudly call themselves “Christians.”

I’m speechless. I can’t even conceive of that sort of insecurity or jealousy.
Children immigrants to this country are not illegal immigrants. They’re refugees from the US Drug War being fought in Central America. US drug policies created the situations those children are fleeing. We should take some damned responsibility for creating those situations in the first place, and for helping those who are trying to escape them. If those children were fleeing Noriega, fine! Come on in. But drug cartels? Nope! Stay away. You’re not welcome here.
