I’m surprised Andrew Cuomo wasn’t best man, as he and Maloney are so similar politically.

Good for them!

I look forward to a time when this is so ordinary that it isn’t considered news.

Congratulations I hope they enjoy a wonderful life together. I have two very very good dear friends who have been together for 30 years and were married here in California a few years back. They are so devoted to each other.

Mazel tov!

That day is coming. When I’m lucky enough to have a section or two to teach, I casually ask my students their opinion on marriage equality. Community college students tend to be more conservative than those at four-year schools, but the reaction I get is basically “Why is it such a big deal with you older people?”

If the Millennial generation does not harden as the Boomers did, I think a lot of these social issues that Repubes have used for so long, are just going to go away.

Laudable goal based on same observation I have. I don’t share your optimism, though. The laissez faire liberalism or permissivness I observed in the 90’s is gone and those former youngsters have stayed in their same churches and are now firmly planted in the funda-gelical soil (pun intended).
