Then the whistleblower made the extortion scheme public, and Zelensky canceled the interview.

I can list a number of Republican candidates for president who did not do this.

I want to take issue with the implications that to get US military aid released Trump was demanding Ukraine lie about Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton to help Trump’s reelection.
I do not believe, as in all other areas of foreign policy Trump was a Putin puppet, Trump intended to release any American aid to Ukraine under any circumstances. That is Trump’s policy was, as John Bolton has stated, to force Ukraine back to being like Trump, a Putin puppet and but for public release of Trump’s tying Ukraine aid to Ukraine lying to help Trump get reelected, had no intention of ever releasing aid to the Ukraine.
Each and every instinct of Trump is criminal and self-serving.
In point of fact, your observation should have been compressed into a suitable title for a series of articles and essays to run until Trump is dealt with legally (and beyond).
