Did State Help Giuliani Strongarm Ukraine? | Talking Points Memo

I am not convinced of this. Bitch McConnell and many others have crossed some unspoken lines. Unless there are a good deal of Democrats somehow tied up in this mess–leaving Pelosi and Schumer with even tougher, behind-the-scenes decisions to make–I’m guessing Pelosi will allow most of the fuckers to fall on their own swords.

These fucking Republicans have put every single citizen at various risks from plain safety issues (fake hurricane forecasts), cutting funding for fed forest fire assistance to the states, etc; severely constrained the federal government from carrying out its duties in safeguarding the most vulnerable needy among us (food stamps, separating family members from each other, locking children up in cages with too little to eat, no clean clothes, no toothbrushes, etc.); clogged up the court system with cases that never needed to be filed; making our air dirtier by mandating less stringent regulations for coal; allowing companies and farmers to dump high concentrations of toxic (in high amounts) fertilizers near streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands; overpacking the courts with the most conservative right-wing evangelicals; stole a SCOTUS seat. They have been taking collective dumps on America since Day One. I’m not so sure Pelosi, in particular, will shake hands and let bygones be bygones. Nothing personal, nothing partisan … just taking the trash out.

And, yes, “friends on the other side of the aisle” has always rubbed me the wrong way.

After reading your post, I will make it my goal to work “feculent nidus” into at least two conversations in the next few days. Thanks!

Finally something about this. Been hammering on it for days.

That picture of Crazy Rudy walking made me think of something I couldn’t put my finger on. Then I thought of Simon Bar Sinister:

Or “No crimes here, just move along, nothing to see, Giuliani is the only bad actor and he did it all alone with crickets chirping in the background.”

Holy frijole is that for real? I can’t tell anymore because things that used to be impossible are now the norm.

Can you tell us what it means. The Oxford Writers Dictionary that comes with my Mac book doesn’t recognize it.

As Governor Weld said, the penalty for treason is death. Let’s hope coming days provide a reasonable likelihood for Rudy’s guilt so we can get on with it.

Nitpick: I read the reporting to say the career guy called the NYT, let them know that their reporter was in danger and that they couldn’t count on the US embassy to help. The NYT then called the Irish embassy who got the reporter out of there.

But yes, the career official doing their job despite active obstruction from their superiors deserves praise

I am somewhat dumbfounded that Sulzberger then sat on this story for a couple of years.

You don’t need high intelligence to use critical thinking. It is a learned skill. One of our country’s greatest failures is the failure to teach critical thinking in k-12.
