Funny thing is the extremists/insurrectionists were seriously wailing on the cops on January 6th.

They misspelled “Trump voters”.

OT sorta: Saw a white guy with dreds in my local Petco today with a gun in his holster (looking at goldfish). EVERYONE noticed and looked anxious. Yep, those good guys with guns sure are reassuring—really lower the temperature of wherever they are.

So just what are the BLM folks supposed to do with this information? Stop protesting? Arm themselves? Start wearing body armor?

I thought this was the kind of thing law enforcement was supposed to deal with, not foment.

The article title seems a bit misleading, nowhere in the text does it say the DHS is specifically warning BLM. It’s a general warning that local police should be made aware of. BLM isn’t a formal organization anyway. How would you warn them?

They are already doing it.

With all due respect, this is not the case, and I don’t think it’s helpful to say it is.

One of those good guys with a gun showed up drunk at an elementary school in a small town in Oklahoma yesterday. For some reason, the community feels that it, and its children, are less safe.

Interesting about that foundation, I didn’t know that. But does the foundation organize protests, or just fund the movement in general? I thought most if not all the protests labeled as “BLM” were spontaneous local events.

Depends on whose.

This is the second threat bulletin DHS has issued in 2021 regarding the threat from far-right extremists.

On the bright side, we’re at least getting these bulletins now. I remember not that long ago when it was verboten to speak of right wing terrorism. I hope white nationalists are smart enough to realize if they foment violence, this DoJ and President won’t look the other way.

Pretty sure most BLM protests are spontaneous.

From TFA: "BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors told the AP that the foundation is focused on a “need to reinvest into Black communities.”

So … there ya go.
