A senior official at the Department of Homeland Security has alleged in a whistleblower complaint that he was pressured to alter intelligence documents, including about the threats posed by Russian election interference and white supremacist violence, for political reasons.
In March, for example, Murphy allegedly learned that a Homeland Threat Assessment was held up because Wolf and Cuccinelli were concerned about “how the HTA would reflect upon President Trump,” according to complaint.

This is a good thing…not the shenanigans, but the fact that career officials are starting to release whistleblower complaints, and putting their names on them despite the likely threats against them. People in the government are standing up to say the things that are wrong, with details, and the more of this we get the better. This one is extremely damaging…illegally appointed government officials changing intelligence reports to support the president’s election is about as bad as government corruption gets when you’re trying to keep it quiet. This also means that we can’t trust any of the reports like this coming out of the government, simply because they are likely being stage managed to make Trump look better.
I hope more career employees are willing to step out like this and make it clear to America how corrupt the Trump administration is…it only makes it more likely we will get back to a competent and legal government again.
