Joseph Cuffari, the inspector general at the Department of Homeland Security, found out all the way back in February that the Secret Service had deleted texts from Jan. 5 and 6, 2021–but he chose not to report it to Congress, according to the Washington Post.
Somehow it seems like Cuffari lost sight of the Inspector General’s mission to provide independent oversight and promote excellence, integrity, and accountability within DHS.

We’ll see right wing militias and other anti-choice zealots harass and possibly attack this ship. I look for private boats full of troublemakers to be a constant threat, just like the sidewalk tormentors land based clinics suffer.
The level of perfidy in FatAss’s maladministration is simply breathtaking – and not in a good way.
I hope they nail Cuffari to the wall too.
Inspector General? Inspector Clouseau is more likely. This is willful neglect on top of rank incompetence. He needs to go through some things, legally.
Tony Ornato probably played a role in the coup, destroyed evidence, lied to cover it up, and yet, still serves as assistant director of the USSS.

I suppose Matt might want to rethink that. If we’ll get bombarded by Active Shooter ( WTF is an inactive shooter ) warnings I think we’ve got a worse shooter problem than we previously thought. Matt’s got a Freudian Slip problem.
The irony is that Gaetz obviously doesn’t understand that active shooter alerts “bombarding your phone 24 a day” is a horrifying thing, not because of the “bombardment” itself, but because of the damned reason for the bombardment: too many damned guns in the hands of homicidal idjits.
