Despite Fraudulent Signatures, They Still Want To Be Michigan’s Governor

The state of Michigan is in the midst of unwinding the biggest signature forgery scandal in recent memory: The state Bureau of Elections determined earlier this week that half of the 10 Republicans running for governor had submitted thousands of fraudulent signatures in their effort to qualify to appear on the Aug. 2 primary ballot.

Laws are for other people and never Republicans. That’s their rule.

If you keep going to the same well over and over, at some point that well is going to run dry.

Isn’t that more than an oversight or goofup?

Isn’t the entire Republican Party subject to RICO?

“Republicans are casting themselves as victims of money-grubbing signature gatherers and conniving Democrats.”

Ah, yes! The old plausible, but untrue defense

That guy’s no more a “quality expert” than TFG was a “successful businessman.”

What I want to know is whether these ciculators worked in other states.

These thugs want to be Governor but are easily “scammed by corrupt contractors”. Even if what they say is true, it is still incompetence on their part. And, I don’t believe what they say is true.

Classic GOP action. How do you expect anything less than this? No matter how outrageous the GOP gets the Democrats and the major media fail to call them out, and thus the floor for the next action is set.

My BFF who is very active in the Michigan League of Women Voters forwarded the Agenda for the upcoming meeting of the Michigan Board of Canvassers.

That agenda has 40 points on it, points 7-39(!!) have to do with “consideration of the sufficiency of the nominating petitions for (fill in the blank)”

I suspect they will have a long, long meeting.

It is taking place today in Lansing. Expect news. And, I suspect, a lot of demonstrators out in front (at least I damned well hope so).

While many wonder that the Vos campaign is likely behind it all.

But of course they are the victims once again. And ol’ Alex Jones is hyping the “false flag” stuff.

Yep. According to our legal eagle @txlawyer though, he hasn’t crossed any lines provoking defamation or similar, so perhaps the only lesson he got out of it was which way to weasel his insanity without lawsuits. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

(ETA: how come kids get killed and MFers like Jones get to live on and spread poison??)

It’s interesting that these guys want to be in control of the state when they can’t even control their campaign hires.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, the best case for them is that they all were victims of unscrupulous signature gatherers. So they may not be in legal jeopardy, but they are nevertheless stuck with way too few valid signatures. No primary for you!
