DeSantis: Defund Universities That Promote ‘Indoctrination’ | Talking Points Memo

Florida state colleges and universities that show signs of “indoctrination” may be defunded, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said on Tuesday, as he and others on the right crusade against what conservatives have decided to call “Critical Race Theory.”

For a guy as well educated as is Desantis is, why is it necessary for him to continue to audition for the role of the banjo player in a remake of Deliverance? Also, if professors are “asked” to declare their political leanings, I hope they all reply “fascist.”

Great idea!!
Let’s start with neo-liberalism, original intent and family values ideologies.

Does the DeSantis family descend in any way from the Mussolini family?

Just asking…indoctrination like continuing to give voice to “The BIG LIE” and a multitude of other conspiracy theories???

This guy could be trouble. But I have to tell you, Republicans, this is not the way to bring the educated suburbanites back into the fold. You want to defund the public universities if they don’t bend the knee to the wingnuts? Something’s gotta give there.

Pretty full throated defense of White Supremacy and its connection to the Capitaist system

Koch Brothers, Putin, or whoever is using DeSantis as your sock puppet: Defund DeSantis! Otherwise we will have to tax you (Warren) or reach out and touch you (Biden).

I sure hope they all see this comment and react accordingly.

It’s inevitable, given that Democrats keep auditioning for the Ned Beatty role.

so he wants higher education to be even more expensive than it already is. got it.

Hold on while I feign surprise that a state which grants the right to “stand your ground” against people that might make you feel funny because of their hoodies is against teaching people about implicit racial bias.

I may not be able to muster the strength to feign surprise at the “Must prove you have enough Nazis” approach from people that are opposed to affirmative action.

Of course he does, he wants there to be less of it going on.

They want to ensure that in the future there will be less educated suburbanites so that they don’t need them in the fold to maintain control, so that they can become even more radical.

If its indoctrination he wants to fight against, how about churches, temples, synagogues and mosques?

Just a reminder . .

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
