It would seem as usual that Pelosi’s grasp of game theory vastly exceeds the ability of certain observers to give her credit for having it. She’s demonstrating to the bulk of the public that doesn’t follow this stuff like rabid soccer fans that the Republicans will not act. She’s letting them hang themselves with their own inaction and obstruction in the face of an historically dire crisis. This tends to inoculate our side against accusations of partisan whatever.
