To be clear about this, it is not as if being a democratic socialist, running as and aligned with the Democratic Party in 2020, were a bad thing, or a pejorative in any way. Some of my best friends are democratic socialists, and come to think of it, so am I. But we can all agree that it is good that Congressman Engel continues to work hard on behalf of his constituents even after his recent primary election defeat— although the fact is, his constituents whose votes he won in 2018 have every right to expect no less from him.

This is a joke, right? Precisely what makes you think that this is even a remote possibility? All of the false messiahs that Dems and Dem supporters have invoked over the past three years have proven to be so wickedly illusory that it’s borderline tragedy.
All federal agencies have been compromised and corrupted. There are no “good men and women” fighting to save anything but their employment. DHS, FBI, CDC, FDA, the entire alphabet soup of the federal government is a mass of technocratic Little Eichmanns who ain’t gonna do shit to “save” anybody.
I respectfully disagree with you. We still have an IC with many civil servants dedicated to their work. It is not obvious, at times, but consider their current working environment.

Great comment. It seems the goal, after realizing that the current POTUS is in no way qualified to hold the position of POTUS, the other branches of government saw an opportunity to exploit the office of the President including the (Republican)Senate, (Republican)House, Judiciary and all of their donors. The donors are a big problem.

The Democrats should say that they too want to investigate the possibility of any Biden-Ukraine corruption. That they, like the GOP led Senate, want to ensure that this (and any) presidential candidate has no personal ties to a foreign interest. And that further, they will use whatever comes out of this ‘discovery’ to help develop legislation that sheds light on potential influence of foreign entities on members of the government. The Senate need not bear the full burden of trying to guarantee the integrity of government officials (in, or attempting to gain office). The House has the same mutual interest at heart… the moral correctness of conduct.
Otherwise it sounds like, “Show me your cards… we want to see what you are doing.”
