Democratic Secretaries of State are hailing a Thursday court ruling shutting down key components of Trump’s March executive order that, in part, directed the U.S. Postal Service to clamp down on mail-in voting. The ruling came just hours after the postmaster general sparked outcry when he testified before Congress that only voters in states that…

Yes, our originalists on the SCOTUS know that words often don’t mean what they actually mean.

Doesn’t the presidential oath of office say the n00b will “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution”?
Seems to me trump is breaking his oath of office.

You mean, until it doesn’t?

Been doing it since he took the oath. Hell, he didn’t even follow the tradition of putting his hand on the Bible (possibly the same one he held up in front of the church a bit later).

He had no intention of doing anything that didn’t personally enrich him and keep him out of prison.

For 250 years the states were very jealous of their rights. One of the rights they guarded most closely was the right to vote. It is in the constitution. The Federal Goverment can’t dictate to states how they run their elections. Beyond some specific individual constitutional voting rights (think 14th amendment insuring the rights of individual citizens) the Federal government is supposed to keep their hands off voting. See Overview of Federal Election Laws | U.S. Election Assistance Commission . Trump can take his executive order concerning voting and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. States don’t have to pay any attention to the SOB.

And now that hand is deforming and withering into an ugly clump ; - )

Trump’s executive order that directed the U.S. Postal Service to clamp down on mail-in voting.

Along with keeping track of those mifepristone bans in some states and deliveries in legal states… and who lives where… who’s a doctor… who’s following their religious beliefs… who’s a citizen…

Look, y’all are getting $0.82 stamps in a few weeks. Work faster ; - )

And shame on red states that do.

Except for those Blue states that depend upon mail-in voting - they’re going to need a solid backup plan, perhaps a volunteer network for delivery, a lot more funding for private carriers and a lot more dropboxen.

The US is broken, hope we can still fix it…

As was said trump has NO power via the Constitution over voting. Period. It’s a state power. He otta Shut The Fuck Up about it. He is such a sore loser. Never progressed past 5 yrs old in terms of maturity. I will be very happy when he is laid out on a cold slab.
Edit to add
I got my primary ballot yesterday. I vote early due to my being disabled. I am happy to hand deliver my vote to the County Recorder’s office thereby avoiding the post office.

Been voting by mail since CoVid hit. I put the ballot in the DoE dropbox, avoiding the USPS.

Then they send a nice postcard thanking me for voting by mail.

There is no “fraud”. You only get one ballot as a registered voter. It’s not like there are stacks of them laying around that anybody can just pick up and send in. You can’t just run off copies at Staples. It’s on colored, odd-sized, high-end paper. That goes in the bar-coded envelope of similar construction.

Good on the court smelling the desperation
