Way OT, but Public Health Seattle daughter informs me that the Chinese Wuhan coronavirus is now in WA. And us without a fully functional CDC. This is going to be a very difficult control scenario.

The GOP doesn’t dispute what Trump did. Instead, they make up a story.
When that story is shot down, they make up another one.
Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat.
Why do they tell so many stories? It’s all they’ve got.
That’s why they want a short trial. That’s why they don’t want testimony or evidence.
They are fearful you might change your mind. They don’t trust you, and neither does Trump.

OT alert:
The Supreme Court on Tuesday denied a motion to fast-track a challenge to the Affordable Care Act so that it could be considered this term.
Without comment, the justices turned down a motion by the House and Democratic-led states to expedite review of a decision last month by a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. The panel struck down the law’s mandate that individuals buy health insurance but sent back to a lower court the question of whether the rest of the statute can stand without it.
A practical effect is that the Affordable Care Act is likely to remain in place through the November elections.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. This Trump defense plan is just more of the same old same old that Trump has presented his whole life. The kernel of his ethos as we all know is “it’s not my fault, I didn’t do it, and if I did it then it was wrong.”
The claim that we should all wait for the 2020 election results is laughable when Trump openly and gleefully asks foreign governments to once again come meddle in our election. He is aided and abetted by MoscowMitch who see no reason to up our election security.
And anyone with half a brain that has been paying attention knows that if he loses the up coming election he’ll use his same bag of tricks to declare a failed election, thus he must stay in power. There will be no peaceful transfer of power. And by his side will stand Barr, Mitch, and Sekulow ready willing and able to come up with more baseless excuses for Trump to stay in power.
(Oh and I hope that the National Archives has a safety plan for keeping the US Constitution out of a petty tyrant’s reach)

What I want to know is can these actual lawyers get disbarred for flat out lying? Absolute false statements on the Constitution among other things. Can they be censured for this shit show?
If not, do we still HAVE a Republic?
Edit: now they are flat out lying and saying that no republicans were allowed in the scif?
