Yep. The Feds plan takes away 77% of the Colorado River water we’ve been allocated. That kills the Central Arizona Project canal system. Essentially, it will mean either the end of agriculture in our State, or the end of urban areas; not enough water for both. Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing us stop irrigating alfalfa fields to feed Saudi horses. But that’s just me.

We need El Nino to put record amounts of snow in the Upper Basin. If not… really bad for Arizona.
According to “The Law of the River”, first straw in gets the first water rights. Arizona is last. And people in Arizona say CA should get rid of swimming pools and golf course so AZ has water.
Most water goes to agriculture, or flows to the sea, because there are always downstream users.

Yes, all those grassy lawns and bushy shrubs and lawns in the desert and semi-desert regions of the Southwest have long amazed me. Really, guys? But agriculture is the bigger issue.
I keep trying to remember growing up in NJ in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s, when supermarkets had no plastic bags and my mother treated her roll of Saran wrap like gold. When our vegetables in winter came from our freezer (Momi’s work – and mine! my tiny fingers picking green beans my father had grown) or from the supermarket’s freezer (we were fortunate not to need to descend to canned vegetables).

An American Boeing C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft unexpectedly landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport this morning, according to Flightradar24.
The aircraft departed from Camp Springs, Maryland, the service’s data show. Joint Base Andrews is located there, where U.S. presidential aircraft are based.
The reason for the U.S. military aircraft’s visit to Moscow remains unknown. This may indicate non-public contacts or negotiations.

Arizona needs to take steps and stop the massive water drain by farms growing animal feed for Saudi Arabia. There are dozens of stories, going back years, chronicling this. But still it continues.
And this as well -
A 2020 study found 79% of Colorado river water goes to alfalfa, which in turn primarily goes to cattle farms, the most emissions-intensive form of animal farming.

Desert alfalfa is a real drain on ancient aquifers. No nematode issues, sun, and compliant local governments. Old scheme that has continued for decades. Saudis destroyed their own aquifers growing alfalfa and wheat!

Suppose the Democrats take one or both of the congressional houses. Suppose the Democrats issue subpoenas for data/files and for cabinet members to testify.
Suppose the administration ignores the subpoenas and the DOJ refuses to enforce them.
What avenues do the Democrats have to enforce the subpoenas?
