Dems Leave Soleimani Briefing Confounded | Talking Points Memo

A closed-door briefing with national security officials Wednesday afternoon did nothing to convince House Democrats that the strike that killed top Iranian military official Qasem Soleimani last week was justified.

Hopefully they also left with a conviction to open investigations into the ‘imminent’ threats.

“Utterly unpersuaded” describes the entire administration.

All the regime cares about is that it gives sufficient pretext for GOP senators to lie about it for Trump without looking too shameful.

Mike Lee just left the briefing in a huff saying that the briefing wasn’t detailed enough and he was really upset that the briefers told the Senators not to debate or discuss further actions against Iran.

INTERESTING.

Funny how there’s that difference between sycophants and those who are still capable of independent thought and who exercise analytical and critical thinking skills (or who just recognize the bullshit that’s put in front of them for the bullshit it is).

Thank god they aren’t buying what this one is trying to sell them.

Unlike 2002, 2003.

Thank god.

Well, that is quite something. It wasn’t detailed enough. Hmmm.

Looks like it was too bogus even for Lee to support.

I normally hold Lee in a lot of distain…but I really enjoyed him being upset. He called it the worst briefing he’d ever received.

O Bazinga!

I like that myself a lot.

His middle name is Shumway and he looks like he was born with a “dad-bod”.

I was paraphrasing, but that the idea.

The characterization of it being “sophomoric and utterly unconvincing” says it all for me.

He sounds like he was lit up and apparently Rand Paul was equally outraged. Maybe there is a glimmer of hope?

I just posted about that elsewhere. (Trying to take the ornaments off the tree and get everything put away, ran into the kitchen, and didn’t see this post.). Nicolle Wallace was pretty surprised to hear those criticisms pouring out of Lee’s mouth. He was pissed.

About time, Mike.

Dang, Mike…

…One of the messages that we received from the briefers was: Do not debate, do not discuss the issue of appropriateness of further military intervention against Iran. And that if you do you’ll be emboldening Iran… I find this insulting and demeaning. Not personally, but to the office that each of the 100 senators in this building happens to hold. I find it insulting and demeaning to the Constitution of the United States…

Hearings into “How Trump nearly bumbled the US into war with Iran”… and he may still.
